Wow! My sentiments exactly! I'd be tempted to give DS 9 and B5 a tie for first.
I weould like to give honorable mention to "Space: Above and Beyond" for portraying the military of the future in a fairly realistic manner (other than the strange wastage of space fighter pilots as ground troops).
What is Blake's 7? Did it ever air on American TV?

British Sci Fi. Sort of the anti-Star Trek. Kind of simmilar to Farscape or Firefly, but with british accents. It was shown on some PBS stations.

B5 rulez. Like a reqular soap, but when someone gets really pissed, instead of trying to badmouth you or ruin your life otherwise, they send a fleet to destroy your homeworld. Gotta love that. Realistic human tech, the early EA ships didn't even have artificial gravity, they had seatbelts. And newtonian flightmodel soothes the soul of any old Warhead pilot. Which reminds me of the SFX, which, AFAIK, were made with Amigas. (Not the reqular A500's, though...)
Quantum Leap was also great, and Red Dwarf, what I saw of it. Heck, they had JFK assassinate JFK...
Bladerunner, Directors Cut was also a great experience. And the first Planet of the Apes. "God damn you all to hell!" as they say.
Forbidden Planet, Dark Star (oh yeah!), Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis, Ghost in the Shell and Star Wreck. (Valopallot rulez ok.) There really haven't been that much good scifi on big screen lately...
Never had much interest in Alien movies, but did enjoy Resurrection immensely, solely because of Annalee Call...
I feel like I'm forgetting something big...
Well, Galaxy Quest was fun. Farscape also, beeing the only thing on finnish tv at the moment. Enterprise seems to be picking up steam quite well.
ST: Voyage Home was fun also.

Me too. But what made me put B5 in 2nd place was the lack of continuation in the cast (Sinclair left, Na'toth left, half the cast of the pilot left, Ivanova left, Talia left, Marcus died, etc.) and lousy and sudden ending to the Shadow Wars, made me put it in 2nd place. That, and season 5 sucked (compared to seasons 3 and 4), giving the show an anti climax. But overal it was a terrific show.
DS9 just did a tad better in the closing of the war and had more continuation in cast members (of the main characters credited, only Jadzia died I believe), warranting it's 1st place in my list. That, and Avery Brooks. His performance in certain eps (like the 1930s ep, in which he's a black writer) is stunning. He makes Sisko a terrific character, better than Sheridan and better even than Picard or Kirk, IMHO.
TOS and TNG are tied. TOS started out great, but got rather crappy towards the end. TNG had some awful episodes too, mainly in the first seasons, but it grew rather well. Overall, I can't pick a favorite.
SW was kick ass...but Episodes 1 & 2 kinda ruin it. They are ok movies to watch once or twice, but on overal they were rather mediocre. And their sucking nature takes away some of the magic from episodes 4, 5 and 6. A shame.
Voyager and Enterprise are tied too...but only because both suck so badly. Enterprise is still going though, so it may get better (DS9, TNG and B5 all sucked in the begining too)...but then again, they already had 3 seasons, they should have gotten things right by now. Season 3 was alright to watch, but completely irrelevant. The whole Xindi thing was pointless, it showed us little, and played out like 1 big episode. It would have been alright if they managed to make it into a Dominion War like saga, spanning several seasons...but instead, the Xindi weapon plot came...and went. Now, season 4 will be starting, and we're right where we left of at the end of season 2. The Xindi have made peace and left, and a new saga starts.
Space above and Beyond, as well as some other series/movies, deserve and honorable mention. But the thread is about ST/SW/B5...so I left them out of the list. and Crusader (B5 spin-off) has never appeared on tv here, and I've never watched it therefor.
