Yes. I would have liked to have seen the refs continue how they started and book a few more people for diving. After someone taps the ball at your chest, don't role over 3 times clutching your face. If when the free kick is given, you get straight up and play, you shouldn't have been rolling on the floor. I also don't like the way you *have* to fall over to get the free kick. I've seen free kicks that should be given where someone's been fouled but stayed on their feet. That would help stop the culture of diving.

The performance of the Latvians is OK all things considered, but if I were German (is this grammatically correct?) I'd be disappointed at my national team's failure to score.

Aw, the lone Latvian striker did very well up there while I was typing. Actually quite a pity Kahn got hold of the ball there.

Good performance by the Latvian team, better than their game against the Czech republic overall. Gemany really needs a good striker. The world cup's top scorer Klose just sucked. I hardly saw him after he came in. He got one great chance to use his head, and he blew it. The other ones are not much better. Kuranyi might be considered to be Ok, but the team's offensive players are not running enough when they got the ball. Not even a great player like Ballack can make a difference if there's no one he can play the ball to.

Now, lets see what Holland - Czech republic will bring.

There are 3000 our fans in Portugal, some hot girls among them, too. You may be envious, I see TONS of positively hot girls around the town every day.

A good game, decent performance from both teams. It may be my bias, but I think that the referee didn't blow a penalty when he should have. It was also interesting to see one of German defenders trying to strangle Verpakovskis during corners, twice. Verpakovskis will be leaving for a much better club, definitely. We could've even won with better luck, but that's very, very solid for us.

Isn't Verpakovskis at Dynamo Kiev at the present moment? That's a decently big club in my eyes. But surely some of the really big clubs must have noticed the guy. Would be great for any club that playes with a fast counter-attack tactic like Valencia.

Yes, he's in Dynamo K, but IMO deserves better. Like Spanish league, probably - not Italian, though, not his style.

Hopefully the dutch team doesn't have any spirit left after being smashed by Czech republic. Lets hope that Nedved is at his best (ie, the best midfield player in the world) and that Poborsky will be king along the right side line and perhaps we'll see Latvia and Czech republic in the quarters.

Yeah, Holland should probably have at least two penalties. Holland's lead is fair, but the Czechs are are also playing good football. By far the best half thus far in the tournament. As I see it, the single most important thing about what's going to happen in group D is that germany shouldn't get through to the quarter finals. Boring bastards.

Very entertaining game so far though. Robben and Seedorf are doing so much better than Zenden and Van der Vaart last game. Czechs are moving real well off the ball and casuing no end of troubles...

ehhh... it was an OK match really.

They are showing a late night re-run of the game. I'm gonna tape it. If there's ever a match I would want to see again, this is it. Not thanks to the referee or Dick Advocaat though.
