Spain has never won a game at the EC with more than 1 goal difference.

Did you notice the greatest difference from the world cup? The referees; I hardly noticed them in the fist two games. And as most of you know, it's hard not to notice Collina. Good grades both for him and Urs Meier from me.

Otherwise, it think the first game was nice, kind of like the first game in the world cup, but without the 'post-colonial implications' of Senegal vs. France. I think it's nice when a competition starts with a shock. Hopefully it'll make the other favorites understand that you have to really put your effort into it, even against poor teams. Wonder why Portugal never can make an effort at all. It's kind of pathetic really.

To be honest I thought both games were boring, not really unexpected on the opening day, a pitty none-the-less.

In the second game, the referee was a bit yellow card trigger happy, but at least nothing as bad as most opening games in the WC.

Got spare money?

I can enjoy tactical games too, and in fairness, with Belgium not in it, it makes the whole thing just a little less interesting to begin with, for me anyway.
There's is less build-up, excitement, noone to really support for etc..

Today, no team except Greece had a tactical plan though, - they executed it to perfection btw - all I saw was a bunch of individually very talented players playing a game of beach football.

Max, what didn't you like about it? I found it to be at least as good as Spain-Russia, if not better. Nice open football, good action from Croatians, some decent performance by Swiss. Sure, many small mistakes, but enjoyable overall - hardly any moments that were dully slow, as some last night.

Spain-Russia was a GOOD fight. The Spaniards was ineffective for most of the match but still very dangerous. And they made one of those, which make a winner. A goal!

The Russians defended themself more and much better than expected (by me).

I really would like if they (the Russians) had it 0-0 , or better - if they had got a lucky goal - but they didn't as all knows now. Why? Simply because Spain has been an evil "ghost" for Denmark as long as I remember ).

BUT back to ..... Switzerland-Croatia....... They really played BAD. Both of them. Simply BAD.

OK, a tough situation now. England in lead by 1-0 at the break. I really want them to win, but I predicted it would be a 1-1 draw. I usually predict results as I think them likely, which quite often contradicts with what I would like to see...

What was the need for that 2nd french goal?
That 1-1 just made my day. *sob*

Why oh WHY does that Zidane has to score that penalty.
WHY OH WHY

Paul, can I get that 4 points anyway for predicting the right score 20 seconds before the end?
