Orders sent
After the race of the Tower of Babel I was left very distrought. But, My seers reported news. Apparently they saw visions of what they call a "Chart". This "Chart" ,as they call it, Is a vision of a colored rectangle that shows information about the other peoples of this world and their accomplishments. It showed names, cities, something called "Nukes", something called "SDIs", gold, and scientific level. Apparently I was the father of science, being the only civilization to have any technology. This made me very excited. I had an idea for a great entertainment stadium, the Colloseum. This Great Wonder would make us seem like a fierce and powerful people, and no one would dare attack us, even if we had no soldiers to our name.
Yes, I'm buildng the Colloseum, but you guys can't stop me! Ya hear that Jamski, can't stop me! I'm invincible till I get to tech level 8!
Edit: Smiley, can you write city names on the squares? they seem to be big enough.

The Legend of the Colosseum
As told by Gameis
After the race of the Tower of Babel I was left very distrought.
But, My seers reported news. Apparently they saw visions of what they call a "Chart". This "Chart" ,as they call it, Is a vision a colored rectangle that shows information about the other peoples of this world and their accomplishments. This made me very excited. I had an idea for a great entertainment stadium, the Colloseum. This Great Wonder would make us seem like a fierce and powerful people, and no one would dare attack us, even if we had no soldiers to our name. In addition to this great accomplishment would would build a city, Rectanprismia, to the west.
The Sack of Belgrade
The Spaced Dudes sensed fear upon encountering a southern neighbor.
These people, the Serbs, had built many cities across the center of the world, first their capital Belgrade, then Novi Sad.
But the great leader of the Spaced Dudes, the emperor Spaced Cowboy, proclaimed to his people there was nothing to fear.
Wise people of my nation have discovered the art of iron working, he declared, holding high a glimmering sword.
With this, we shall strike fear in our enemies. Great furnaces were fueled and hundreds of swords were forged.
Spaced Cowboy himself chose six brave citizens to lead six armies of sword-wielding warriors.
Then he watched the skies, waiting for the time to come. Come it did, with a dry autumn when the river between the two lands dried.
The banners were raised and the armies charged. They swept down towards the city of Belgrade.
As they reached the mud wall that circled the town, something seemed strange. The enemy was nowhere to be seen.
Some warriors feared an ambush. But Spaced's fearless generals urged his troops forwards. Storming the walls, they overcame the sharpened sticks of the townsfolk and captured the palace.
The generals pushed the attack, sweeping out down the road to Novi Sad in pursuit of the Emperor Ljube. Once again a strange sight greeted them at the city, that same quiet calm.
Now bold from victory, the army broke down the palisade and easily took the town. Emperor Ljube still eluded them though.
Then a sharp eyed scout spotted a path into the woods. Then a sign, one that said, to Nis.
In the face of the swords, the last city of the Serbs put up a valiant fight. But their weapons of bronze were no match for those of iron.
As Spaced Cowboy himself came to survey the scene, he saw an inscription on a stone. It read in a language he could barely read, Ljube will return.

Hmm, both of you had 2 cities, tech 1, and 10 gold to spend. There are two possible all out attack configurations:
10 armies, Tech 1. to which the defense is 6 armies, Tech 2.
((10 / 2) - (6 / 2)) * (1 / 2), attacker gains 1 city.
(6 / 1), attacker takes 6 casualties.
(6 / 2) * 1, defender takes 3 casualties.
2nd configuration, also the one used. Use the same defense of 6 armies at tech 2.
((6 / 2) - (6 / 2)) * (2 / 2), attacker gains nothing.
(6 / 2), attacker takes 3 casualties.
(6 / 2) * 0, defender takes no casualties.
The key is not putting all money to military, but to put some to technology.

Look Smiley, I'm not a sore loser. But a casual glance at the rules of combat reveals that no matter what I do, he can take at least one of my cities if he chooses.
My only possible and reasonable response could have been to take his cities in turn, which had also been indefensible.
Instead of doing that, I decided to propose a cease-fire and a trade alliance, which seemed most reasonable solution in the long run. I still don't know why he attacked me. This isn't a game in which luck factor decides, so he would have been better off with a trade partner and a loyal ally, rather than being alone against a coalition of everybody else.
