After looking at the last save, I've been having second thoughts on the Parthemunde strike.
The reason? CGN's rather quick collapse.
CGN is down to 2 cities now, and if GWT's Ansars heal, they might be able to take them down pretty quickly. This would result in the possibility of GWT moving part of their Ansar forces back once CGN is out of the continent. Our biggest threat is having Ansars within striking distance of our two stacks, even if that happens, we might get lucky and not have to face the bulk of them, however, in this situation, facing the possibility of a counterattack, we would be wiser to concentrate all our resources in at least achieving one objective: Ruhrpott.
In short, I think we must talk to CGN, try and assess when they will be wiped out over there, and estimate whether this will give GWT enough time to heal and move back. If this happens, I fear we might face more opposition than expected and those 6 knights from the Parthemunde strike might well mean the difference in us taking Ruhrpott or not.
So, please post your opinions, we still have a few turns before we are to late to repent. Again, I have rather mixed feelings, on one hand if GWT is still busy with CGN I think that striking Parthemunde might have a good chance of success or at the very least not compromise the Ruhrpott strike. If not, we might be in for a nasty surprise.

One thing that has been spoken about, in several threads, is the possibility of GWT getting another GL and using it to rebuild their FP. Even though those cities (the ones that we destroy in our strike) will have to start out from scratch, that is nothing, with their Infrastructure already in place and them having the Pyramids.
Taking our the Pyraminds, the Colossus and any other small wonder in that city, will be very benificial to us, in the long run. That city is a massive Trade center, with the coastal tiles and that River. At size 12, it's huge when it comes to their overall trade balance.
And anyone want to bet, that they just might have Herois Epic there, too?? That would be fantastic if it is....
I'm for the strike, even though we are not able to get their in the timeframe that we had first thought (no sea channel... that we can currently see).
The Parth Strike truely gives us a chance to totally cripple their economy well and good. If say, 2 turns after we finish our FP strike and leave, they Rebuild Ruhrpott and rush an FP with a GL, then we have only set them back a few turns. That is not Optimal, IMHO. But even IF they do that and they DON'T have Parth to help them rebuild and to fasttrack to Navigation, then we have done what is needed, to insure our emerging Greatness and it will give us time to get ready for the main event.
AND IF we do decide to not do this, I think that we should have this Group of Knights go as part of the Group B units (all fresh off the boat).

Instead of scrapping it, we should just push back the Ruhr attack a few turns.
Listen. THIS IS IT for us. This is our one and only chance to catch GWT offguard with an attack. After this attack if over, whatever we do is going to be a long, hard slog at best ... or a failed invasion at worst.
We need to do as much damage as possible in this attack. Destroying their FP is nice, until they rebuild it. Destroying a wonder is forever, as is destroying a major production center (or two or three, etc).
When we leave, we need to leave them in a state from which they cannot recover. Leave them in a state that allows us to surge ahead of them, for good.
But most importantly, we need to have the strength and confidence to TRY to make this attack a success. Right now, what I'm reading from Trip is that he's too afraid of failure to do anything other than an attack that is guaranteed to succeed. That's the sort of attitude that is going to make this attack one that we win the battle, but lose the war.
Calculated risks must be taken. Cowardice and hesitation have never been characteristics of a good general. The greatest battles in history all have elements of wise gambles with clever fakes, flanks, and surprises.
I'm not advocating doing a suicidal attack at a fortified position. What I'm saying is that we have the resources to carry off two attacks, we just need to arrange the timing of those attacks so that they're simultaneous or very near to it.

The whole problem is timing.
CGN and GWT/GCA must still be at war, or Just as soon afterwards as is possible for this to really work, IMHO. It's going to take CFC 1 additional turn, IIRC, to land at that one spot, close to GWT's Leo City. The thing is, we can adapt to the sitiation.
We might just have to stay in their Area and threaten Meiertopia to be effective. The thing is, that we will see.
One thing that I have learned a long time ago, is that NO PLAN survives first contact with the Enemy, even in Civ.

Well, I may sound again as the guy with empty comments, but I think Trip is right. Just after the idea was introduced by E_T, everyone suddenly fell for it, because oooh, we can destroy their capital and oooh, we can destroy their pyramids. It's not going to happen and this is the I-don't-know-how-many time that you are warned. GWT is not as dumb as the ass you are taking them for. It's opportunistic, and in contrast to Togas's knowledge of military history, oppotunism has helped noone one step further in military history. General Eisenhower and Marshal Montgomery made no gambling in June 1944 and attacked at one place. They attacked relatively poorly defended beaches and not Berlin, and how well known is the opportunism of the Battle of Arnhem when they went "a bridge too far".
Concentrate on one goal. If you want to have Parthemunde so dearly, attack it with all the knights you have and destroy in that heartland as much as you can, and nothing else. But attacking Parthemunde in the middle of a war with only six knight is the most foolish thing you can do.
You know with how many troops the Allies attacked Berlin? Think about this while you look up the exact number.
