DICTATOR IS BACK!

Welcome to the latest version of my humble contribution to the WW2 scenario genre!
This time, I have upgraded the graphics somewhat;
(with some amazing help from your favourite SL creators!)
I have also tried to cram as much WW2 action into the scen as possible;
(while not giving any civ empire a huge advantage...)

This is my most fun work to date, and much time has been spent on the icons and terrain...

I will chart the playtesting and final development on this thread, and I hope to
perfect the scenario with the help of our ever-ready players here on SL forums!

The WW2 genre will never be bereft of fun, if we keep the outlook fresh and add
some new dimensions, as in Harry Tuttle's Atomic Eagle - Hand of Reaper scenario!

But enough of this grizzled, shell-shocked veteran's talk!
I present some graphics to give y'all a taste of what's to come!

I think you will agree that fairline and Jim Panse have outdone themselves this time!

Also Harry's work was used to inspire the Tiger tank, and perfected by Jim!

Their units rank among the very best in the web!

Without these chappies, there would be no scenario!

The civs are as follows:

THIRD REICH
USSR
USA
BRITISH
JAPANESE
COMMONWEALTH
NEUTRALS

Only the Neutrals are not really suitable for play, but you can try them!

The balance will swing between these powers a lot, and if the USA gets into the fight, expect trouble!

I have retained the long range bombers, but given the Axis a rather evil sub now, and made the super BB buildable by all!

Also, evil civs can follow a new tech path that enables them to exploit POWs and captured populaces!

Every civ has an advantage/disadvantage as follows:
Germany - Superior Weapons - Expensive to build.
Japan - Excellent Navy and Army - Low tech civ.
Britain - Excellent Army and Air Force - Perilous situation.
Commonwealth - Good Army - Forces are spread thin.
USA - Industry Powerhouse - Many fronts to fight on.
USSR - Industry Powerhouse - Poor Army/Uncertain situation.

You will find each civs nature as you play!

Where am I at with this thing?

Here's the good news!
It is done and dusted - Almost!

I need play-testing info, as I have only played as the Neutrals, Germans and Japanese so far, and it has been fun.

So anyone who wants to playtest, can you pick a certain civ and feed me back on what you find?

I want to make this thing perfect, within the bounds of CIV2!

So, I will post a zip this Weekend! Stay tooned!

Will this edition be a single part scenario like previous editions, or are you planning to split it into 2 or more parts (like Axis and Allies by Jim Panse)?

OK, chaps!

I have been away in a misguided attempt at making money in the afterglow of getting my animation degree...

But don't think I would ever abandon CIV2, or my fellow creators in Poly or CDG!

After making some moves in my real life - I am back to stay!

I haven't been idle either!

Here is a play test version of Dictator for ya all to try...

First, I don't get it..why are there two British civs? I'm kind of confused here...

Second, the Gosprom complex wonder info says that it's located in Hamburg.

I don't know how this fares out, but both Iran and Egypt had oil discovered before WWII broke out, so maybe they deserve a tile? Just a thought.

I like all the oil additions to North America and whatnot too. It really helps keep the industrial balance out of the Middle East.

Love the other changes too! Another top-notch scenario from Curt!

Oop! A lot of the wonder text doesn't belong with itself...the Vatican is the Secret Service, etc.

I'm getting even more confused

And gah! It's going to be impossible to build anything with the production of plains and forests...wah!

Maybe St. Louis should be a space down...and just out of curiosity, why do you call it "St-Louis?"

Germany has Hollywood War Movies.

Salt Lake City, Portland, Minneapolis, Chicago, Washington, and Seattle don't produce enough shields to support all of it's units.

The democracies won't be able to improve their countries, will they?

The unlimited movement railroads look identical to the 1/3 ones...any plans to change it?

Playtesting now. Complete across the board, or course, except for:

1. Playing the British: Multiple unit disbands appear on turn 1 for the outlying British (not Commonwealth) colonies. I think I lost about 7 units in Africa and S. America.

2. For some odd reason the names on the outside of the cities of Jacksonville, San Diego, and Seattle are not showing up at all when playing the British. I suppose that these cities were founded after the map was uncovered?

3. Question about Quebec being the only exit out of the St. Lawrence/Great Lakes. Commonwealth ships are piling up at the city and cannot exit into the Atlantic.

Besides that it looks to be good and sound.
