Chapter Eight and a Half
Far above the clouds, above the toiling people of the Apolyton Corporation, three disgruntled employees came to meet Kassiopeia, their President who they had joined in equally unfortunate circumstances.
"But wait a minute", said Kassiopeia as he saw them, "you aren't dead yet!" Alva realised this and disappeared in a loud "whoosh" back to his still-kicking mortal coil.
The other two, Method and Nuclear Master, were not too miffed about this.
"Regardless, we came here to demand that you reinstate our status as the living", Method demanded. Nuclear Master nodded. "And no hiding it, we know that you're the one pulling the strings. Not only in the company, but on a slightly... larger level."
Kassiopeia scoffed at this. "And what if I refuse?"
"We shall defenestrate you, naturally", Nuclear Master said.
"But there aren't any windows here", noted Kassiopeia. "But I guess I could arrange for that", he said, shrugged, and lo, there was a window next to him. "You won't defenestrate me, though."
"And why not?"
"Because if the story has no author, it can not continue. It will probably cease to exist entirely - no precedence exists, not that I know of. And that's as good as not existing at all."
"We'll continue the story ourselves."
"You don't know who the Mafia are."
"If you won't tell us we'll defenestrate you."
"I tire of this conversation", said Kassiopeia, and stopped writing this madness.

Chapter Nine
Before the closet could be examined, Method's murder had to be "solved". Vovan, with his sense of duty, promptly defenestrated himself after receiving the most votes.
Spaced Cowboy watched the spectacle amused and strolled off to make himself something to drink. He nearly picked up a packet of coffee, but then said "Screw it" to himself and instead reached out for a bag of some Manchurian tea.
When Spaced Cowboy was found dead, his cup did not have any coffee, but tea that was slightly cloudy with some sort of substance. All were truly clueless as to what this substance really was. He did deserve it, though, those bags are an abomination.

Chapter Ten
The acting president of a company is a very windy position, but it was a small miracle that it took so many ballots and defenestrations before it was the Duke o' york's turn to embrace the wind and subsequently make a quaint little "splash" on the paveway. Night was about to fall and a few stars could already be seen on the dark blue sky.
Then the mob, that had shrunk to the size of six in a matter of mere twenty or so hours, proceeded to the staff locker rooms in the upper levels to examine what could be the container of vital clues to discover the identity of the bloodthirsty brother.
A diary was discovered, but Ella's brother was seldom mentioned, and even then not by name. She had been married and neglected to ever mention her maiden name, explaining why none of the six left were called Green. She did call him by a nickname, but no one could fathom why it was "Ed". There were no Edwards or the like left alive.
It was mutually decided that the six would from now on stay strictly in the same room, and at all times move and sit and whatever in groups of three, so that the other two could overpower anyone trying foul play. Half would sleep, half would watch over, half would go to the bathroom, half would have to cross their legs in the meantime.
This quite marvellous contingency plan failed, though, when Jonny had to pop in the toilet and noticed that everyone else, including the ones guarding, was asleep. Thinking that this was a pretty good warranty of security, he strolled off to the bathroom.
The stabbing and slashing had been fierce that time, the blood spillage was all over the room, staining the lightbulb up in the ceiling and transforming its light into a peculiar hue of red. The tools of the crime were the same as before: staples, pencils, and gardening tools.
