I'm not really that good at writing. I'll look into it tomorrow night I think.
Sorry about my lack of attention recently, I've been preoccupied.

I honestly don't know anymore what is leaking information and what isn't.
Basically it comes down to if anyone has a hunch that some action taken by a CMN is leaking information it seems to generate a minor ruckus.
"Seven factions, all alike in dignity on fair Chiron where we lay our scene. From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hand unclean. From forth the ideologies of the crew, the path to bloodshed will be conceived."
Parady of Shakespeare, not sure if it's good or not. It's a bit short I know....
Sorry feeling a bit sick atm, so I don't know how useful my comments will be. With respect to the Spartans the problem I can see, is that the Spartans are more of a take action kind of faction and in your history thread you're have them being very reflective.
Here's my ideas for making the spartan segments more spartan.
* Instead of brainstorming or being thoughtful, they will tend to plan things.
* When making decisions or doing things they will tend to do it confidently.
* With group interaction the majority of Spartans will work and think together as a team. So someone of lower rank may give suggestions, but will trust the decision of the person of higher rank even if the person of higher rank disagrees.
With respect to the members.
* I've noticed they also tend to build off each others ideas. One person comes up with the idea of woodchucks and other people will take that idea and suggest improvements etc.
* They seem to perfer roleplaying average Joe soliders that are just doing their job.

Difference between planning and brainstorming is. When you're brainstorming you will often think of things you won't or can't do, and you will sometimes get side tracked. When you're planning you think of the problem and solutions, you're thinking of things you can do and are more focused on the issue.

Snowflake, you can post what you like, including pictures. I don't mind people posting new threads or making non-related posts. When there's so few people it's difficult for things to get confusing. All my thread merging and moving is more to make it easier for this forum to be read, not as some kind of restriction in how people use this forum.
Edit:
Drogue get better soon.
Also Snowflake my above message has nothing to do with your argument in the gaians. I just read that after you asked your question. I was just kindof disappointed that I seemed to be the only person making threads in this forum, it felt like you guys are afriad to post in here. Then again there's so few people and not much to discuss.

Recently I've been visiting apolyton with a web browser that doesn't use pictures.
With attaching pictures it's pretty simple.
* you make a thread to attach pictures to
* right click on the picture and copy the link to the picture
* use <img> to link the picture
* when showing the thread outside the forum you need to get drogue, method or myself to move thread with the pictures out too
I'll read the history thread and give some comments here.
With attaching pictures in a seperate thread I did that because it was a much cleaner way to do it. Also with the number of pictures I was making I could have filled up my upload space.

*sigh* it's very long I only read part of it. I will try and do it later when I get home. You've taken on a much larger task than I would have ever let myself get into. It is also very difficult trying to write about someone else. I think when they read the histories the players will enjoy it.
To tell the truth I'm not very interested in visting this place. Right now I think I'm looking for something, and I already know it's not in this place. Not sure what I'm looking for.

By the way I hold by my assertion that the lack of inital rivers are what have slowed the Gaians down, and starting on a river is why the data angels are in the lead. The lack of rivers slowed them down far more than moving the colony pod into the fungus.
Rivers increase energy and unit movement, which are both very important. It's mainly the unit movement, which is very important for early turn advantage in planting pods, moving formers and exploration.

With respect to your introduction thread, I think having all factions within the same thread is very confusing at the moment. This may improve during the later stages when the factions start interacting, but right now I'm having trouble following what is happening as the story switches between the different prespectives that are focused on different things too fast.
At first I considered suggesting to have the stories seperate, and just copy the relevant sections from other factions to each thread. Then I realised the extra work involved and also the fact later in the game the inter-faction interaction would be less interesting without a merged thread. So now I'm not too sure. Do what you think is right.
The individual story threads do have their own flavour, which is really good, but difficult to appreciate when switching between each faction constantly. I think the way I would have attempted to do it would have been to have all the threads written in the same way from the narrator prespective, but subtlely change the way the characters think to bring out their constrast. Then again that can be really difficult when you aren't master of what is occurring in the game.

Don't stay around just for me. If you feel you have more important things to do then do them. I'll say yet again, what a narrator needs to do is only decided by the commitments we take up.
With respect to the spilting of threads, I'm willing to help you split the threads if you want. If method or drogue are around they are able to do it too as they actually have joint moderatorship with me in this forum. They're just being polite by not using it. If you want to the thread spilt then I'm happy to let them do it if they see your request before me.

quote: But it's ok if I had to work alone. I just don't think we can both leave like that. |
I'm not suggesting that, just trying to make sure that you don't feel obiliged to take up my work. To sum up what I was saying earlier, if you feel pressured to do something it won't be as enjoyable.
quote: I understand you. We have different sets of values. I believe when you accept a position, in RL or in game, you have accepted responsibility that comes with it. |
My sense of responsibility has been the main cause of my problems here. Also I feel I've developed into a different and worse person because of my experiences. I'm too tired to try and keep the high ground with my values, I've already admited defeat there.
I think everyone needs something in themselves to respect. Otherwise they have difficulty functioning. With you Snowflake I think you respect your own self sacrifice and your moral values. I think what I used to respect in myself was that I was a good person. I'm not sure of that now, especially in this place.
Please don't try and nudge me to become more active. I have my reasons for not wanting to be here.
