You want to install the patch first, then download the playtest build, and replace all the files with those in playtest build.

Even if your problem persists then, there will be much larger possibility of tracing down the exact cause of the crash. So install those files and post on your progress.

Actually, I have CTP, not CTP2, so the patch installer couldn't find the game on my computer, of course. Do you have a patch for CTP?

Ahh, that's worse. Well, there is a CtP patch, too, http://apolyton.net/ctp/files/patch/cctp1_2_us.exe . The problem is, we do not have the source code for CtP1, and if your problem persists after installing the patch, there's not much we will be able to help you with.

Actually, if you can find it, get a copy of CtP2. It's the same game for the most part, but with a cleaner interface, more good mods to run, and what's the most important, it's the game source of which we have and on which we are constantly working.
