the 3 swordsmen were just there to scare you and drive you to send units to that end so i can clean up from the other end

my B game has lots of floodplain tiles which is great later on, but losing 2 pop points right in the beginning, especially when the settler was just completed, was a bit dent. fortunatly, since then it only happened once or twice more... with remarkably less effect when city size is 8 and not 2

I have lost units - those archers. I've also lost a few units to those barbarians - spearmen guarding my cities. My horses are doing well though, although that usually means a string of bad luck is on its way...

A: darn i was hoping for a surprise attack (you concentrating your forces west), but your warrior made it difficult. and obviously your horses were posted there too... oh well, i should get my attacks planned better next time

B: why 3? maybe because they are galleys? (btw: curraghs can't load units)
i had a hunch that you were defending the front city well (as proved by the 5 swordsmen), so i thought a small raiding taskforce could mess up your back lines.

tell me if you're around during the day... then i'll play my turns. otherwise i'll wait for later this afternoon.

B:

after that, my luck turned (but always got close):
- vet MedInf vs. fort vet spear: wins with 2HP loss
- vet MedInf vs. fort reg spear: wins with 3HP loss
- vet Pike vs. fort spear (1HP) wonded: wins with 3 HP damage (that was my lucky shot)
- trebuchet captured, sent to bombard vet. spear --> 1HP damage
- pikeman goes searching for swords, takes undefended worker

before i came, i didn't expect reinforcements that fast (damn automove ) and didn't know there was a river between. oh well, i've taken your capital. can't see the new one, so it must be somewhere in the middle of the fog.

A - managed to kill a med inf with a horsey

B - my swords were slaughted - in fact there was only a few hit points damage to your pikes out of all that.

I've never had such bad luck in any games as I have with these.
