Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

The WSJ is good for financial and business news, but that's about it. The well-rounded NYer reads papers as follows:

NYT - National and international news
WSJ - Business and financial news
NY Daily News - Local news and Sports
NY Post - Gossip/trash, maybe Sports
Village Voice - Culture/alternative

I have no idea who reads The Sun. Never seen anyone reading it at all.

Newsday is Long Island-based, so a lot of commuters read that, but it's somewhere between the Daily News and the Post in terms of quality. Then we have the two 12-page freebies that just popped up: Metro and AM New York. Both are pretty bare-bones, but hey, they're free and everywhere. Although the front page of the Metro did once spell the Mayor's name as "Blooomberg." Tut.

Hell, I read Guardian editorials on occasion (probably more than WSJ editorials, now that I think about it). I don't let petty partisan ties stop me from reading an interesting piece...

First, Newsday is much better than the Daily News, not between the News and the Post.

Metro is basically the "left" free paper while AMNY is the "right" one.

And Aggie, you have NO idea about the weekend behemoths.

Oh, and lets not forget the NY Press, the rightwing version of the Voice, then we get the Onion on the street, and then the 40 odd ethnic press newspapers like El Diario and Hoy.

Heartily disagree. Just read the Newsday editorial writers to get a chuckle. I'm embarrassed for a lot of the columns they run. And their news coverage simply isn't that great. While the Daily News isn't a paragon, I still think it's better.

Yeah I do. I buy the weekend edition of the New York Times when I'm feeling rich (it's about 7 bucks here). Still nothing on the Brit Sundays like the Observer.

One great thing about the New York Times is the section with pictures of newlyweds: they're almost always of some crusty old goat who just married some young and good looking tart.

No lately. Though the Fashio section is their one true piece of fluff section..oh, that and the travel section.

Here in NY they cut the size of the Sunday edition by moving the magazine to saturday- thought I still always await the Week in Review.

@ the NYP. Total rag. Amusing at times, though.

I didn't know they had screwed up the ALCS outcome. That's hilarious. Morans.

As for the VP thing: meh, whatever. My mind has been made up for months, and it will not change before November. Begone, Bush!

Perhaps it's more. I remember being shocked at the price and 7 dollars seems exorbitant for something that will line the cat's box.

Put an end to popups!

Last I heard it was up to around CAN $1 = $.75 US.

Still, that's over $5 U.S. for a paper. Yikes.

I'm assuming that's Edward's wife on the left. Surely a good looking guy like that can do better. Who would of thunk Kerry would get the better score- at least she is rich.

Hmm, well, maybe Edwards looks at more than just appearance when it comes to the person he loves?

Besides, she is pretty, just heavy. Probably never lost the pounds put on from the 4 kids. And she is in her 50s.
