Full PM-box? Change here!

I for one, Am just ready to just go and quit this game, now.

My reason is this, if we have problems now, we'll have them again. Very soon, we will be striking GWT's FP core. At that time, it's unclear as to which of us will be the Initiators of the War and if GCA will chime in or not and declare on us or not. So, what happens, after we have withdrawn our strike, after it succeeds?? Will we have some of the same problems then?

I've put a lot into this game, but I can let it go, if need be. I don't want to, but I would rather do that, than deal with this kind of uncertanty, in the future.

Got spare money?

What will be irritating about the future war (among other things) is the question of GCA being used to spy on us. I can imagine the howling if we declare war on them and refuse them peace. From here on out, they must be considered a package deal, wrt war declarations and peace treaties. Unfortunately I can only see this game getting messier, even if we do resolve the current crisis.

the only answer is to remove both GCA and CGN from the game entirely. Right the wrongs that Mongoose has caused. Allow the members to join GWT and us if they wish. Otherwise, the game will have more and more of these problems.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Well, since GCA would never leave this game voluntarily, I think ending it now is a valid option. As I've said (and others have said) it will only get nastier and messier from here on in. I'll stick to my enjoyable Demo games, thankyouverymuch.

Tired of ads?

E_T, honestly, when I read these options of your poll, you must have been irritated when writing them down.

I want to see us conquer GWT and we will not be denied that by GCA.

I think that now that this status quo continues, we have every right to mingle in it. GCA has to be taught what alliances mean and how they are trying to interprete the rules in their advantage, but against the spirit of the rules. EVERYBODY has always some feeling when he is doing something, that tells him whether it is right or wrong, no matter how you think about it. GCA has that feeling too but they igmnore it every time BUT EVEN THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE WRONG!

What we should do is tell it to them and demand either their acceptance of our opinion or them ending their membership of the game.

Support Apolyton, buy Galactic Civilizations

Basically, I would tell GCA that they are Crap civ players.

Everyone knows that it will come down to us or GWT in the final battle.

We know who the best civ players are.

We know who the Bastards are.

We know who we want to play civ with, we know how to play it.

Tell them to stop screwing the rest of the players around, and play the game.

Offer GWT a private game, just us 2 teams on a small map, away from the other teams that are slowing the game down. Then we will see who are the better players (and who gets the better land and settlers...)

Put an end to popups!

This game is kaput as it stands now.

Could an impartial party (not Mongoose) be found to use the present save game to setup a 'Poly vs. GWT game, copying this map and everything we both presently have, just leaving the minor players out?

Suffering from ads?

Negotiate with GWT, and come up with a compromise.

We will force our vassals to comply (or we will eliminate them)
They will force their vassals to comply (or they will eliminate them)

This game is dead if we wait for GCA, CGN & Mongoose to come up with a solution. Those three have zero interest in this game, and are just ruining it for the rest of us.

Get a new Administrator.
Mongoose is a waste of time.

@ E_T

I know this must have hurt. After spending so much time with this game, I feel your pain when you say "I'm ready to quit here and now."

Alas, however sad it is, I completely agree with you. For me, the moment came many months ago, after Lucky's explanation-confession regarding the miraculous battle results... at that moment (and several times since then), I realized I was playing a game I did not want to play nor be part of. This team is one great bunch of civ players I love. We are able to eat one another alive, when we disagree on something... but even after all we've been through, I still feel well here and I still check this forum every day - just to see what all of you, guys, do and if there's anything new in the team.

But (some of) our opponents in this game... sigh...

I know it would be sweet to post a picture of our victory screen and laugh in the faces of those we despise. But let's face it, that's not going to happen. Not at a reasonable cost.

The worst or most costly mistakes in my life were those when I failed to realize I was fighting a... a wrong battle. Be it a relationship with a girl I could actually never live happily with or a business project that could never work, it has cost me literally years of my life.

This game, gentlemen, is such a wrong battle. Whatever else we do, be it a 1-on-1 match with GWT, another PtWDG here on Poly, a myriad of Civ3 SP games, or even something totally off-civ, we do better than staying in this game, prolonging the agony.

It is NOT going to improve. It's going to get worse...

Getting rid of GCA and CGN would be a way to go... but honestly, I'm not holding my breath... Quitting this game and setting a new game with GWT and perhaps CFC would probably be easier and more enjoyable than purging this one of... well, you know.

Just my $0.02.

Dam it this is ridiculous, we should do what we can to continue the game.

Way to many of us have put way to much time and effort into this over the last what 18 months?

Go for the comprimise and continue.

If we REALLY think GCA is such a divisive influence on this game, we should work in the future on getting them banned from further competitions such as these.

Although before we go that route, it should be noted that CGN is almost no better at this point.

Does anyone know FortyJ at CGN very well? I do not but he has been an excellent administrator at the C3C ISDG after Elucidus over at CGN kind of fell a bit short in getting things organized. He got tied up with RL issues including a job transfer.

If you want an impartial guy who is GOOD, he immediately comes to mind.

Increase Your PM Length

I can't really choose one of these options.

I think eliminating GCA and CGN would be great, so long as we get GWT to agree to it. IIRC there wasn't much support of this when it came up over discussions of CGN's flight to Remembrance, although at the time, GCA and CGN weren't fighting a battle of stubbornness like now.

But, barring GWT agreeing to that, I want to get the game moving with some sort of compromise - but not at absolutely any cost, and I do care about this game still.

My sentiments exactly. I haven't contributed much to the team, but I don't see any real reason to give up everything.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Ultimately this boils down to being everyone's individual choice.

If people are bored with the game and do not find it any fun anymore they will slowly start leaving and there's really not much we can do about it.

What I can assure you is that I at least will remain active around here until this game ends, pending of course any RL issues.

I say we sit down and have a heart to heart with CGN and basically tell them that we want them to give in so we can move forward with the invasion. After we burn GWT's FP to the ground, I could care less if we end up having to walk away. We've come this far with the invasion plans though, and I for one would like to see the outcome.
