Is Berz evenings only? That's what I seem to recall...

I've got meetings the rest of the afternoon, but will try to prep my pick in the unlikely event he should appear...

I'll check in later tonight and post my pick or PM it to two of you if Berz is not online by then.

I'm looking at 3-4 players. Since 16 studs go off the board before I pick again, I'll want to think carefully about this before I screw it up.

BTW, what happens if you get BAPAYed with a position you've already filled?

...and how often do BAPAYs actually happen?

Suffering from ads?

BAPAY's occur at least a few times in every draft. What we normally do is a modified BAPAY. We use the 'RANK' (not "O RANK') measure and pick the best available player which you have an open spot for on your starting lineup. After that we'll BAPAY you the best available player except if you have the same position on the bench.

Please explain a bit more. For instance, I believe the current BAPAY is a RB, and most of us already have one. But we have two roster spots for RB. So would I be given my 2nd RB, or would I be given the first BAPAY at another position?

Regardless of your answer and FWIW, yours seems a pretty user-friendly version of the forced pick. I will be travelling the first three weeks of August. Hope to get online often enough to avoid BAPAY, but needed to know just in case. (With any luck, it will be late enough in the draft for me not to care much.)

Taking a chance on an older player here. But I'm sure he still has legs. Though Rams have selected a rookie RB this year. Who knows how much action he'll get. but Faulk only played 11 games last year. So I figure his numbers have the greatest potential for increase. Far too often I choose the "safe" player who gets consistant points. But I always end up in the middle of the pack... or worse. I have to take a chance if I have any shot at winning it all.

Yeah, you'd be giving a 2nd RB IF he was the next in line in the 'Rank' listings.

Well you could leave a small list with general points, like:

Round M: Pick the highest ranked RB (don't pick YYY or ZZZ though)
Round N: Pick the highest ranked WR

etc.

Btw, nice movement on the draft last night .

Hm. You have to wait 6 more picks, and it's unlikely all will be RBs. I think the BAPAY will probably be an RB at that point, so there should be good quality available.

No, it'll be a QB. Because we make completions equal to 1 pt (even with incompletions at -0.5), QBs are valuable. Even without that some are super valuable.

I'm unclear on how this works. Is there a yahoo list that is specifically filtered through our particular league scoring rules? How do I get that?

(I assume I have access, maybe even already seen it, but don't fully understand what I'm looking at.

Does the BAPAY list include rookies, or is it based on last year's stats, or a 2004 projection, or what?
