Well I sure as peaches am!

I'm talking about a Civ3 Diplogame, and I know there are people here just itching to create a team story, one that will feature the skills of every writer, and it will have game saves to coincide with the story so the readers can see what the crap we're writing!

It's a spin-off of PBEM although we could do Online MP if we could get a group together at the same time. Personally I would enjoy this opportunity to play a game of Civ 3 where REAL diplomacy goes down. The idea of a diplogame is NOT beating the other players into submission, it's using awesome strategerie (word borrowed from my president) and diplomacy (diplo... duh ) to create a story that draws readers in.

Didn't I see a thread here about getting more people to come to the stories forum?

This promises to be really cool, and I want to see some of you guys playing, it would be interesting to see what kind of nations you guys cook up.

I did a civ story with you a couple of summers ago, turtle. Everyone attacked Italy and you were macedonia and I was persia. It was over in 1 or 2 day cause some other people said like, 'I land half a million soldiers in Italy. Next turn I take over rome."

I don't know man. Trying to ressurect NES's here is like coaxing TootingCommon (spelling might be off a little but just going by the sound of it) from his tomb. Also, I don't know who actually plays civ here. I extremely occasionally fire up my mod for a spin but usually I play Sudden Strike and online chess for tactical challenge.

But all the power to you if you want to. I give you my political support, instead of donating money to kerry to fund his botox and haircut fees.

Well hope this dont turn into another one of them where I believ Nuclear disaster sent me like a bunch of emails to ask me to participate in I believe a D A R and since (around a good month or more) havent done anything concerning this!

Why don't we just try to get NESes back? The only semi-valid complaint was not all of them being strictly based on Civ3. While thats true, neither are half the stories here. Its probably a lost cause, I just wish they would come back. They would give people a reason to check the forum regularly and keep it alive.

The problem was, it was out of my control. But hopefully Theseus will get his DAR finished up soon, and then you guys can have a go at it.

I only just read through this thread, sorry guys Ive not been round here much for a while so have lots to catch up on.

I like this idea very much but why not expand it to a PBEM game with either 8 player/writers or 8 teams of players stroke writers ?

Im sure Paddy and Vovan would be interested in a PBEM game, as we already play in several now.

If it was PBEM then we could have control over more than 1 nation in the game, in fact anywhere from 1 to 8 the limit of civs in a PBEM.

Just a passing thought be interested to see others thoughts on this

I play in 12 games (IIRC) currently in CTP 1 PBEM now, is CIVIII set up similiar?

I would eb down for that as well...just I am against a game that takes like 3 weeks for 1 turn..
