I hate to kick a guy when he's down, but something happened to Donegeal and he's just not active anymore. We really shouldn't go on with just 2 Consuls and Kloreep having to act as the third.

I hope that MrWIA will sign up the job, as he's active and on top of things. If he doesn't, we have several other active team members who would do a fine job. I just hope that when I get back from my vacation I see that at least one of you guys have stepped up to help us out.

This team is plenty more casual and friendly than our ISDG neighbor, and I'm not sure why. Maybe we've learned from the other game. But a Consul role won't rob you of your soul or all of your free time. As you can see, OctX and I (and Kloreep even) share the load fairly well and the ministers are active and involved.

So if you ever thought that you might want to take a shot at this job, sign up and give it a go.

Well, I certainly am confident about knowing this game....

I am within a week of moving flats and potentially having no home Net for a short time (and at work is a bit iffy, although there is a high-speed connection there), and when I get it it may be dial-up again for a time.

Those things aside, I accept the nomination.

What's "friendly" mud consist of?

I like to use mud straight from a pig's pen! I guess some would say that that would not be too "friendly".

That said, do we want a Consul who has to rely on a 14.4 modem on his Compaq DeskPro 466? I know he calls it a laptop; but really, just because you don't have a desk to set it on it doesn't mean that it's a laptop!

Also, WIA keeping mentioning "flats". What's with that? Is it related to his theory that the world is flat? Or is it he like flat beer? Or flat women? Sheez! Do we really want a Consul who thinks along those lines?

Hell, BF has a REAL job too. Good for him, but you can't ask better than a student to be Consul - slacking off of what we are supposed to be doing IRL to muck around having fun is what we students do best.

Plus I have been seeing some disturbing rumours around. I'm very sorry about this BF, but the team must know it, if you are running for Consul.

And as far as my "real job" goes...I just broke my ankle today at a roller skating rink. The anterior Fibia (the smaller one) has a nice clean fracture running at ablut a 70% angle to the ground as measured when upright. I hope to only be out of work for a week...I'll keep my hopes up though.

I was working a lot of overime recently in an attempt to get a nice sized down payment on a Nissan Armada. Now, that money will be used for otehr things; oh well, at least I had some put aside. :/

I would make a great consul because I would build factories in all our cities before the end of the middle ages...they would do fine with the police stations while we are in despotism because everyone knows that you get 5 times the commerce in a city with no banana's than you do with a swordmen one may use to rush a worker...also, don't forget the power and beauty of a christmas tree effect in august, with extra tinsle in your shoes you attract much more static electricty than you would eating a frosy at dairy queen, unles you were at wendy's and then that would only be true if you could dana carvey to buy you a new cd burner that allows one to maximise you research throughput on every other turn that is divisable by 37.

Since it seems like this is becoming the defacto campaign thread, I have some questions :

1. What is the meaning of life?

2. What is the airspeed of a Swallow?

3. How do you view the alliance with PAL?

4. What do you think is going to happen between Apoly and PAL post CDG?

5. What do you think is happening on the other continent between BAT and GWT? (Assuming they are both on another continent)

I honestly feel that they want a game long alliance. The reason is simple. Only two teams need to be eliminated from this round. Cooperation with another team in the next round will be needed. APO is seen as one of the best in the game. If PAL can both secure a spot in the next round and have APO around in the final round, they can use the realtionship we already have to help give them a leg up in Diplomacy for the fianl round.

That said, we don't need to drop our guard completely either; though PAL has gone out of it's way to prove their worthiness and that's something to consider as well. But, overall, I just think that is F-P's style anyways.

We will work togther to bring down one of the other two teams on the other Continent. We will approach both of them and then make a determination about which one would be the easiest to take down, then we get the other onboard with us to make it a 3-way against that team. I believe they are cooperating to the fullest extent. Once they realized it was 3 and 2 they knew that if they didn't that they would fall behind techwise. They have likely signed an agreement to help eachother out in any case of another Civ making a landing there. But, each will be susceptable to diplomacy from APO and PAL as to theri allies disposition. I don't think it would exactly difficult to get one of them to turn on the other.
