Although this article doesn't state the judge gave him access to her again. I thought I heard somewhere the judge did allow them to contact each other.

While 12 would have been too young for me, maybe this kid was an early bloomer.

This kid's life is already ****ed up, it couldn't get any worse with them meeting and resuming their relationship could it?

But he has no job. Who knows if she could get a job.

But I admit, for some reason I'm pulling for them. Maybe their get married and stay married 60 years.

Thats right and every student is entitled to their fantasy.

But its the teacher that is supposed to know better.Its a simple rule.

You don't boink your students. Period.

Even with adults in the workplace-- you don't boink people that you supervise. Courts don't see this power imbalance as rape but it sure as heck qualifies as sex harrassment that gets your ass fired.

As for this case, I have mixed feelings about them getting together now. While I feel the jail time to this point was warranted, they are adults now. If 7.5 years has not cooled his ardour for her ( and I presume he has had chances for sex with others), there are two rationales I can see. One is that this is truly love. The second is that this early experience has so damaged and ****ed up the young boy that he was incapable of normal emotional development. I don't know which it is and am torm between trying to protect the boy that he should have been versus his right as an adult to see her if he wishes

while she is a "child molester", she probably is not a pedophile if the boy was physically mature. If her attraction to him as a young adult now continues, it might be that her attraction was not to children as a group but was to this one individual

Do away with the whole "age of consent"; from the moment one is self-aware, you should immediately receive most of the human rights, voting, sex, whatnot, but maybe with parental consent a bit higher.

I've never understood that complaint. Teenage boys do not have emotions like that; for most of them, they just want to do it and then do it again. There are a lot of things teenage boys can't handle emotionally, IMHO mindless sex isn't one of them.

It depends on the circumstances. If the boy is the one being assertive and aggressive, then there is no problem whatsoever. But if a teacher coerces a boy into doing something he's unsure he should be doing, that is wrong.

Sure, but for the majority of teenage horndogs any sex with an attractive woman is cause for excruciating happiness.
