Round 21: Endgame, Part I
Following three rounds of general stagnation and boredom in the great struggle for galactic supremacy, it became clear that the war was about to be decided. With a weary determination to see things end, one way or the other, Overlord Joncha powered up his fleet and hurled it into the teeth of  Smiley’s defenses. As it turned out, Smiley’s fleet had stayed at home, so the two superpowers met in a combat involving every ship in the known galaxy.

Joncha’s fleet is defeated and forced to withdraw.
In an unusual turn of events, both fleets chose exactly the same OOB; thus, the issue was decided by firepower. Unfortunately for Joncha, Smiley made superb use of his advantage in lasers, and caused severe damage to Joncha’s fleet before he could retaliate. Although both fleets took enormous casualties, it would be Joncha who was forced to retreat and fight another day.

Following Joncha’s failed attack the previous round, Smiley decided to return the favour, and launched his entire fleet – along with a large number of new laser ships – against Joncha.

Smiley’s fleet is destroyed and his attack fails
Interestingly enough, both fleets chose to use the same OOB as the previous round for the first three rounds. However, the results of this were somewhat different; Joncha had learnt his lesson regarding Smiley’s lasers, and was able to counter them much more effectively. He then proceeded to decimate Smiley’s fleet with mass torpedo barrages into his tightly-packed formation, sending some fighters in for good measure.
When the dust settled, Smiley’s entire fleet was gone, and his bases were left defenceless. A few days later, a letter arrived from Smiley’s capital announcing an unconditional surrender to Joncha’s forces.
