While I'm glad that the storm is gonna miss me a large margin, I'm concerned that the area that is getting hit was evacuated enough. I know that a county north of Tampa was supposed to be evacuated, but the Sherrif said only about 25% of the people left. If the people in the Ft. Myrers Charlette Harbor area didn't evacuate. Given how strong Charlie now is, this has the potention to be very bad.

A recent study had said that if a Category 3 hurricane hit Tampa, it would cause $13 billion in damage. So now we have a Category 4 bearing down on it. Holy crap!

I'm glad I don't know anyone in the area, but I certainly hope people get out of its way ASAP.

Tampa is out of danger. It's Charlette Harbor and Ft. Myers that are going to get clobbered.

Still here in Brevard County. Fox 35 is scaring the bejesus out of me. Someone just told me that they've closed KSC due to weather for the first time since 1981!

I was in Orlando last weekend, so I guess I'm lucky enough.

My dumbass neighbors were ordered to remove everything from their balconies and haven't. If any of their **** flies through my windows, there's gonna be an ass kicking tomorrow.

It's raining now. Conditions are supposed to deteriorate in about an hour and a half. It's supposed to be at its worst between 2 and 4 am. Fortunately, that wil be at low tide, so the storm surge won't realy be a problem.

It's getting weaker, but not quickly and the system is staying organized. That means when it hits the Atlantic, it's going to re-energize.

It's moving North-North-East at 20 mph (32kph). We should feel the effects of it in another hour or so, reaching it's peak sometime between midnight and 4 am. We'll have gusts up to 80 mph (128kph).

However we were referring to the storm here..

It was a very sad day here as well, not as many but 3 killed and several dozens injured in Rocky Point from a Tornado..
now we have another storm forming hard to tell if we will have anything to steer this next one or not...

Just sad time with the weather..

Back on topic we are possible looking at a CAT ONE or CAT TWO sometime in afternoon tommorrow..

for now Horry County SC (home of Myrtle Beach) or just north is targeted landfall Number Two..

WE are 2 hours north of the South Carolina - North Carolina Border..right in the Northeast Quadrant.....

Its gonna get real dicey here but if a silver lining is to be found it is that it will be moving quickly versus a buzzsaw effect of a 3-4 mph Hurricane chewing up real estate and even loss of life sometimes

At least two people have died here in Florida, in car accidents caused by the weather. We won't know until tomorrow how high the death toll is. Sanabell Island had 100 people still on it and it took a direct hit from Charley. Because the storm took a different path than was projected, a lot of people are still in its path.

We must just hope for the best.

Theben, I'm fine here. Unless I get hit by a tornado, Charley's not going to be a problem here in Jax.

This is what amazes me, like the lady interviewed on Weather Channel, she "wanted" more of a storm..

People just dont know..it is very scary..really freaky when this is happening..

Nope people should evacuate when it gets that close..

like right now the path has been slighlty adjusted, more closer to us..
