Although i have a million games going ... I'd like to start another one, for fun (not money, sorry alexman).
This is a TEAM PBEM. Not a Demo game, but a TEAM game in which eight players are on four teams, implying locked alliance (and co-victory, assuming both players survive). I think others have played this way before, but I haven't... and would like to.
I will take *only team entries*, which means if you don't have a teammate, post here but I'm not saving you a spot if 4 full teams show up. I don't intend this to be a terribly serious game -- mostly because I don't have the brainpower to be assured I'll win.
Rules:
Team members may communicate anything and everything to each other, maps, screenshots, science, whatever. It'll be on a random map, so no guaranteed nearby start, but you'll find each other soon enough i don't doubt.
Non-team members may not communicate except what's available in game -- you may communicate anything that would be technically communicable in game, so once map trading is available you can give specific directions; once mil. alliance is available you may make a military alliance; once communication is open, you may discuss scientific advances. Communication with one team member is communication with both.
Beside that, I don't see any 'rules' we need (though post if you do). Play for fun, play fairly.
Map will be Standard, Pangea, 80% water, to ensure we're nice and tight. Everything else up the middle.
I'd be open to a slightly modified map, either to ensure close team starts, or to give a fast start (extra settler), and/or anything else people want.
Oh, and anyone who wants to team with me, feel free to say so. I'm going to ask a few people, but I don't have anyone lined up yet.

I too use to play at the same hours, but not always. Normally, from 21:00 to 23:00 GMT+1
Oh, and you can team me with anyone.

I actually have a partner already, I just hadn't confirmed it until just today so i didn't post ^^ MFCamillus and I will be playing in our slot.
I see 3 teams, plus at least 4 other players. (5 teams total.) Obviously we can't do 5 teams in one game -- but how about 6 in 2 (or 8 in 2 games)? 3 teams would be interesting, but either diplomacy would have to be limited or there would be a 2 vs 1 team up inevitably. BUT, it would move a lot faster, and we could agree to not team up 2 vs 1...
What do you all think? I'll be here all day tomorrow, on and off, and parts of Saturday as well, so we can work this out over the week-end...
Timer: I'm generally against a hard timer, BUT a team gives you a bit more of an option -- it's not horrible say if Paddy plays Chrisius' turn or vice versa, since they're allowed to share info completely anyways. How about if you expect longer than 24 hours you ask your partner to play it, and if it's a long wait we may ask your partner to do so?
And what do people think about a fast start or a custom map?
And, Alex, if we played 6 player 3 team would you join? ^^ Then we only need one other ...
and roth/con or beta/con would indeed be sweet. All three of you are gladly invited if we set up a second game ...
