according to Dr. Steve Lyons over at Weather.com we have a "Wild Card"..

It is a trough from the west..if it comes quicker than expected than it will force to stormaway..later than it will force it down and more toward Florida..

or was it vice versus..

at any rate...most probably a Cat 4 or 5

Man..we will still have to worry or at least be concerned about the warm Gulfstream..a buffet of warm energy to feed off of for Frances.....

This far out, it's unlikely to stick to the six day forecast. Doesn't mean it won't, though.

Emotionally, of course, I hope it misses us. Ethically, though, I don't wish my troubles on someone else. Just North and South of us is sparsely populated though, so here's hoping Frances makes landfall in a swamp.

The weather channel is saying the strong winds are actually tightly focused around the eye of the storm; the outer areas of it are mostly cloud cover and light to moderate winds.
Hopefully the eye won't make landfall at all.

I guess the high pressure ridge is strong. Looks like the storm is gonna go way to the south, towards my buddy Earl's place (he just finished cleaning up after Charlie, too).

As it's projected now, Frances will still be passing by Jax to the west, which means we catch the NE quadrant, which as GT keeps saying, is the worst corner of the storm to be on.

Dodged two bullets so far this season. Will we dodge a third?
