oh and I wasn't tired, just trying to finish up a half day at work so I could spend the rest of it on the links.

okay looking it over, bonus.... yours is the only one that is fu'd up.

I will redo your battle in the morining....as far as losses were concerned, I take losses from the ships in the line that had losses, and if I run out, then I move down the line (at the end of the three battles).

We are on a one day delay for me to figure it out. The update will be up early ~8AM CST, I do not have the files at home. (Man that was weak).

Thankfully, it doesn't work that way. Damaged ships only come about if there aren't enough hits left to actually destroy a ship.

As for the rest; I second Kuciwalker's request for the battles to be put in code blocks; they're basically unreasable otherwise. If all else fails, you might just want to take a combat from a previous game and use it as a template; that's what I did.

Thank you for the honesty, Whoha. It appears I'll survive another few rounds.

Someone tell me again why the ships' hitpoints need to be doubled. It looks to me that doing so confuses combat calculations more then the benefit players get out of it.

Hitpoints were doubled when combat rounds were doubled. This way battles would not end up as "every dies, again" affairs, at least not to the extent they would have been.

Mmm, I'm more in favour of 'empires' lasting longer. I think it would be better to let an attacker gain a base if his losses are less then the defender. But that's just my opinion.

It comes offen over surreal that a fleet combat covers ALL bases from the defending empire all at once.

Have you got a link to that proposal, or are we supposed to remember what it was?
It looks like a map screen from a more modern version of Elite, just with no exploration.

Okay killed and restarted my browser and Doc's orders were there:

Turn 2: "B-but I just s-stepped out for a minute."

Sandman continued his vendetta against poor Smiley today as he sent his entire fleet (8 Torpedo Cruisers, 3 Laser Battleships, and 1 Fighter Cruiser) in a do or die mission against emporer Smiley. Unfortunately, they ran into some kind of energy force or shield while approaching Smiley's sectors. The end result is that Sandman lost 2 Torpedo Cruisers and 1 Fighter Cruiser.

Actually Sandman should be the one that we feel sorry for since upon returning home to his system, he found it occupado by none other than the near famous Skanky Burns. The rest of Sandman's fleet is in limbo, can he find a home or is he doomed to wander the galaxy forever (or suffer a 10% penalty every turn)?

Other than that, everybody else was just chillin' and grillin'. (Thank God, no combats to resolve).

I'm pretty sure that others should be kicking themselves for not attacking at such an opportune time, such as when other players get their entire fleets wiped out and they did not have time to build any shields because they are attack monkeys, well, whatever!
