The Delaware Herald
An independent governor for an independent nation
In an unexpected twist of fate the Independent candidate, Dover native Bruce Magnus, (would you believe I got this name out of Gamecube64?) has won the election for governor by a good margin, nearly 30% above both the Democratic-Republican and the Federalists party.
New budget allows for great economic expansion
As his first act governor Magnus has changed the budget, with 4k for transportation, 2k for Industry, 1k for internal security, and 1k for education. This will hopefully allow Delaware to produce more exports, thus increasing the wealth of all her working residents.

Delaware endorses William Alexander.
Bruce Magnus is quoted as saying: "A nation leaning too heavily toward power of state or power of a country is bound to fail. With too much power of central government what have we but a monarchy with multiple kings, and with too little we are nothing but a loose federation with no real ties or order. This is why I endorse William Alexander for President."

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
The Budget
Armed forces: $2000. [2000 Regulars]
Education: $3000. [a university and libraries]
Transportation: $5000. [Extension of roads out to the borders of Ohio
Internal Security: $2000. [City constables]
Industry: $4000. [Coal mines and an iron plant]
Project: $1000. [Western Settlement funds]
A standing army of 2000 regulars has been commissioned. They have been trained in basic marching, making camp, formations and maneuvering, and signals and firing. The regiments have adequate supplies of munitions, weapons, carts, and pack animals, but there is a shortage of experienced officers and cannon. Still, the governor approves of the legislature’s creation of the force, and is confident they will help greatly in insuring order and defense of the Commonwealth. The troops will be stationed in the extreme west of the state, to protect travelers, traders, and settlers.
Grants have been made available to municipal sectors, which, combined with donations from generous individuals, will finance the construction of a school of higher learning and several libraries.
Roads are being extended the length of the state to the west, to better facilitate the movement of goods and people to the fertile lands to the west. Parallel to this, the Pennsylvania legislature has authorized land grants in the Ohio region to citizens. Monies have been made available to police and administer settlements in adjacent regions, and the legislature is scheduled to review an extension of the borders to accommodate the inclusion of these settlements.
More police patrol Pennsylvania’s largest cities and their near adjacent rural areas.
Interest free loans have been provided to several firms for the development of various industrial efforts, mines, and metal plants.
The Election
The Pennsylvanian Electors have indicated their intention to vote for Thomas Jefferson.
