How many turns till we try to land? Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I won't go and find you a map. I won't put up pretty illustrations showing our options. If you want to give yourhonest and solid input then go find out for yourself. Load the damn turn up! Make your own maps!

This poll concerns how many turns we are going to ask CFC to wait for their landing/attack against GCA. We want CFC to land/attack GCA 2 turns prior to our own landing. So, in order to determine that time in the game we must know when we are going to land or at least make an attempt to do so.

I'd say the window is anywhere between 3 and 7 turn from this last turn. So, your options are 3-7.

And this is how many turns till we are on land for the first time in GWT territory! Not how many turn till we try to find a spot!

A better question to ask would be, you know, where we should try to land. If people vote for Eichenkuste and 3 turns, we have a problem.

Tired of ads?

My opinion hasnt changed ..

Return the units home.
Land them anywhere, and all we will be doing is giving ND more chances for great leaders.

So my vote is the missing button.
"no turns - return home"

Suffering from ads?

Well, then that is not a vote at all. It was already decided to make a landing. You now have a choice of when. You do not have the choice of retreat. Sorry, those are the cards you're dealt here. If you don't make a choice then you are not participating in this decision making process. That's your choice, a sad choice, but your choice nevertheless.

As such, I will sit this poll out.

CFC has kind of made this poll null...well sort of. We still need to decide. But, it needs to be within 3 turns of the CFC landing date at the very latest in order to take advantage of troop movemetns on GWT's part.

I say within two turns of the CFC landing.

CFC has already made up there minds to go after GCA, we need to coordinate our landing after theres in such a way as to give us the maximum CHANCE to have an opening. (Assuming GWT will send units south)

Id say two turns but Ill leave that up to Your judgement BF

Trip, we'd be dead without CFC...maybe not now, but in the near future. We wouldn't have the tech lead we do now, that's for sure. I know they should have been capable of doing much more but thats not the case. We need to foster good relations with them and ty to help them and not put them down. In the latest chat with them I did not appreciate your tone towards them in general; please back off and be nice. We need them still!

Would it be acceptable for someone on this team to resign and sign up for CFC? If someone did that then we would not have a problem getting the economy in shape, building the army up etc...

They deserve everything I give them. They don't listen to a thing we say and even now they're blatantly ignoring what would assist us most. What ever happened to waiting to hear from us before deciding when to land BF? Gee, I think they just flipped us the bird.

If we really wanted to, we could launch a major Cavalry invasion against GWT to end this. CFC hasn't contributed any money OR techs to us for the past 15 turns. They're useless.

They don't seserve everything you've given them. They are our parteners, well junior parteners, but still a partner. It is APO's fault for not fully coodinating with them. They have their own team and their own members. They are playing this for fun and enjoyment. They do not wish to sit back and take every single order form us! Would you?

If we want them to act in a certain way then we need to be more comunicative towards them. We need to develop a relationship. Right now you just want to bark orders at them; that's not going to work for obvious reasons.

They know they can't win this game in their hearts; but some may still hold onto the slim hope that they could. we have to convince them to help APO win this. That's a huge blow to their ego one way or another. We have to deal with that ego else we lose our partner and thus our chances at winning this game.

Put an end to popups!

CFC's populace has always been this big dark mysterious force which seems always to oppose what we want and even what CFC's leadership wants (supposedly).

We've been doing our best to chat with them and fill them in on our plans and get them involved the past few weeks. And what happens? First they decide to attack GCA regardless of what we think. Now even when they ask us when we want them to attack they suddenly change their minds and tell us they're going to attack ASAP, our opinions be damned!

At least we've been trying to accomodate them lately, they're the ones who aren't acting like partners lately. How do you suggest we respond? This is a pivotal moment for Apolyton. We still have a shot at taking the FP, however slim or suicidal some people may think, there is the possibility. If CFC is unwilling to even cooperate with us (yes, US, regardless of what I think they should do), what then are we supposed to do?

But, we have not been communicating with them before this. there was a huge lull in the talks. They took their own road for awhile and now we want to redirect them; it's a hard thing to do.

Not really Trip, in there defense it took us a while to engage when they first seriously brought up the GCA gig.

We have to make the best of it somehow. Recommend a landing and a time that we believe will give us the best chance for an opening.

Go from there, not much use crying over spilt milk at this point. They are there own team, occassionally they aren't going to agree and do there own thing.

And we have no to blame but our selves. We chose them for an alliance partner ages ago for better or worse.

If they take down just one GCA city, it will be a victory! I'm also guessing they are wanting to get their GA started soon. I think their FP is almost done.

Let's hope a GA gets their team excited and in order. Maybe they'll turn things around and get their economy rolling and do some research at a level higher than that of GCA.

I doubt it. I gave their leader an instructional course on economics a few months ago.. and he then promptly left.

At the time they were only using size 7+ cities for building Settlers and had a single Granary (in a size 8 city they weren't building ANY Workers or Settlers from).

I have a hard time believing even GCA is that bad.

Maybe it's time for a new lesson for their new leadership?

Not everyone knows the power of the granery! Maybe send the whole team a few links to some of APO's University threads which fully explain how to get an economy rolling properly.

I have no doubt that GCA will be up and running asap. Their only mistake so far was in trusting us not to come in their back door! Well, that and Luck'y cheating ways...

CFC listens to advice about as well across the board... good luck in getting them to change their ways.

Even in the C3C ISDG they're still building Settlers when their capital reaches size 3 with no Granary... *sighs*

Well, all the more reason to "instruct" them, but in a nice way. Don't go saying "You're all a bunch of fuk ups!"

Tell them about our successes. Show them with spreadsheets and the threads that so many at Apolyton have worked on to share this information. You should take it personally upon yourself to get CFC this information and gt thm to use it. They may be thinking it's too late to chage their ways; it's your job to convince them otherwise.

What good will all that land do us? Not much. I still think it's better of in their hands.

Now, as far as their North is concerned...I have plans for CGN to take root there. CGN can and will make the best out of it!
