it's actually a logical choice. in a world with so few luxuries, happiness will have to come from cathedrals (well actually cathedrals only make people non-unhappy). and sistine's doubles that.

alternatives:
leo's? save money on upgrades of what units?
templar's? spawning useless 1-movers?
and then there are some ancient age ones that i'm not too fond about


btw: why is noone else building wonders? they cost a hell of a lot, but do make the dry-island-world life a bit less uncomfortable (ok, at costs of some units/buildings!)

i'll get to the game soonish

Well I can't speak for the others, but given that my best core city produces around 10spt, a 600 shield Wonder would take me about 60 turns. Now that's enough to put anyone off I would think

Sabre - would you have a look next turn and confirm for me that the Colossus adds an extra commerce for every tile that already has at least one commerce? This should mean most tiles get 3 commerce in Republic and 4 on rivers.

In another game I have built the Colossus, and for some reason I do not get the extra commerce. It is well before Flight. It is an AP game, but I wouldn't think that should make a difference.

Any ideas?

yes, colossus gives an additional trade for each tile with at least 1 other commerce.

it's wierd and unexplainable why you are not getting that bonus unless you have flight (which you already said you don't) or are in a government without the trade bonus (communism, monarchy, etc.)?

sorry about the yellow stuff.

in my game the dutch have the yellow colour... that's why.

i had no idea it's an insult outside of europe i guess pink or purple would be more of a reason for war here (at least for homophobic part of the population )

Ah. Yeah, it's the color of cowardice here. And... not much else really, hence the confusion.

Call me pink or purple all you want, but yellow is fightin' words.

Interesting the Dutch are a different color on your version. Modification, or simply the way it is in your localization?
