I'll have to try sushi one day. People who have tried it rave on about it. So, I must try one day.
Also ten percent is a percentage I'm willing to take chances with.

Yes, parasites and bacteria...but you realise ratios change. 10% of parasites might be due to pollution 10 years ago solved now, or some other kinds of factors.
Chop suey are some kind of American plutocratic invention to make up for the strict food importing laws. There's no such thing here in Singapore or in China, Shanghai, Malaysia, Thailand, or Korea.
quote: Why don't you ****ing respect peoples tastes? Some of us aren't comfortable with eating raw fish. |
And an expletive has to be used why? His " " probably meant he was just expressing his own taste.
And no, people who are "uncomfortable with eating raw fish" (except for safety and health reasons, which I respect) usually tend to be the culturally ignorant/narrow-minded type.
quote: I am not sure about the "easily digestible" part. Cooked meat generally is easier to digest than raw meat. |
It depends. Take a look at vegetables: broccoli tends to be easier to eat steamed, while cabbage or lettuce loses its distinct crispiness when cooked.
Raw fish tends to be less porous. Cooking fish tends to make it dry - because all the pores inside it absorb the saliva in your mouth, and you have to chew on it more, and it goes down less smoothly. Not cooking it seems to keep the insulating "membrane" on it...

no, see,

like, you missed the joke...

what i said was this:
quote: wasabi's like any spice, though. you'd probably not want to hit it. |
i didn't say it was spicy, i said it was a spice. like curry, or something.
and a lot of spices, see, give a "hot" sensation. y'know? burning, hot, tasty...?
and the "probably not want to hit it" was a reference to ted striker.
so, the probably not want to hit the spice, in this case, wasabi, even though it's hot, is a joke. see?
especially because you probably don't want it anywhere near the jewels, see?
