i already explained this to alex in an email: due to my PTW troubles i'm playing it on a remote server (using VNC), taking me about 2mins per unit/city screen. after firing up the game and seeing the vast number of alex's units, i'll have to play this turn when i've got 2-3 hours of undisturbed highspeed internet access

Peace is an interesting option. Greece would certainly consider it, provided her objectives are met.

These objectives include:
1) The size of Persia must be reduced so that her economy is no longer the most dominant in the world.
2) Greece must get a Golden Age.
3) Greece must suffer some losses, because our army is currently too large for our Republic to support in peace time.
4) Ideally, Greece would like a Great leader to build a Forbidden Palace.
5) We must put some fun in what has been a builder game so far.

The last four objectives mean that it would be best to fight for a few turns, but we are certainly not planning to eliminate Persia. In fact, with the strength of the Persian economy and a pending Golden Age, we don't believe it's possible to achieve anything but limited gains in territory.

3) remove some hoplites. my 2 immortals have a better chance against medinfs ... or uhm, otherwise... ever tried disbanding units?

uncomfortable to see that you noticed your force is _so_ strong, that you're actually withdrawing 4 swordsmen to upgrade

wounded persian soldiers reporting from the front have explained that persian defences were decimated by the ongoing slaughter of the greek imperial infantry. but a few brave men (literally the last men standing) managed to slow down the evil greeks.

we urge the greeks to make peace as we see no need to continue this bloody war.
at the same time we recommend the other nations of the war to consider attacking the greek. the defences are spread thinly north of the jungle and the warmongering greeks deserve nothing less than be taught a lesson!
