and they have been most annoying in dealings with my people this time - so I sent a small patrol into their lands to cut some roads etc

this caused your mpp to kick in

King Paddy,

It is not Lord Andy who you find yourself in a snafu with. It is I, King Shogun Gunner of England. We did not intend to come into conflict with France over our MPP with Spain. We have accepted your offer of peace and have reciprocated to you via normal diplomatic channels.

However, the nation of England would ask what France intends to do in Spain. We have interests in this region, as does France. We do not wish to see unilateral action on the Iberian pennisula. Perhaps we can come to an equitable agreement.

I must admit that I was quite un prepared for them to attack me as they did

I have no actual goal at this time

I have moved a small force towards them and will retaliate for their aggression into my soil and against my people

It is hoped that our Ambassadors will be able to meet in the coming days to get some resolution to this matter

My people were quite happy for the Spainish people to exist as they have for so long

Yet they have attacked my people and sent troops into my lands

this is an atrocity

what would you advise that the people of france do in this situation

I have but a small force at this time looking into their lands

so will you be sending troops via ship to these lands?

It has come to light that the Bombard feature is not operational in this scenario

yet it is working in the following napoleonic scenario that I started this last week - Diplomacy Game

so the question is do we restart (we are only in the 1st year) or carry on without this fantastic feature???

It doesn't work in that other game, actually. I'm playing England there, so I should know . The scenario has modified ships - they can't bombard at all.

The bombard button is something that shows up only in MP, it seems. It is not functional, though. I just double checked, by trying to bomb something with a Man-O-War - it wouldn't happen (red cursor everywhere). The only effect I got was after several repeated clicks - bombarding the ship's own square, with no effect but losing a movement point. Just don't use the button and you'll be fine.

You mean it was supposed to work? You mean you really wanted to have bombarding Privateers?

Well, you seem to have forgotten to add bombard values to the ships. They are still zero, as the Civilopedia shows (it reads the actual values from the save, so there's no mistake there).

yet frigates, man-o-war and ships of the line are supposed to be able to in these modified scenarios
