he just keeps reapeating the same thing over and over, or changing the subject. Luckily Bush is not a good debater either.

Like I said, I'm sure the handlers told Kerry to be a bit more of a wind-up toy and Bush to be a bit less of one. I was surprised that Kerry didn't repeat stuff much in the first debate and not surprised at all that he's doing it more now.

I love the way bush said this is another exaggeration

It was pretty much a direct quote.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with Bush here. Although I still disagree with his methods of improving education.

That's the thing I got most annoyed at at Bush. He made education that answer to just about everything. How is education really a Federal issue? And if it is how the hell can Bush claim credit as an especially-good education President??

In theory education can solve many, many social problems in a country. Though it will take time. When a society values education, they become a power house of a nation. Look at Japan in the 18th compared to Japan in the 19th century.

I'm really not sure if bush's no child is left behind act is working. The left is saying it is not. But it's hard to get an objective response to this. You can't go by what the teachers are saying because they are biased towards the democrats.

Giuliani isn't running... You miss the point, "idear" only re-inforces the perception of Kerry as a liberal. Why? Because he comes from the most liberal part of the country, the part where you'll hear "idear". Btw, Giuliani is only popular because of 9/11, before that he was just another liberal Republican from the NE who was cheating on his wife.

Kerry did really poorly and Bush did very well on the religion questions, abortion questions, gay marriage, immigration question, social security, border security, education. Some of this stuff should have been like shooting fish in a barrell for Kerry.

that's just a problem with the democratic party in general. They just don't have any concrete answers for anything.

And they are stuck with this high taxes/raising taxes stigma. I don't know how they are going to get out of this mess. They are going to have to restructure their platform to be a viable party in the future.

I think most americans are realizing that throwing money at education and hoping it improves is not always the answer.

Although the citizens in my state haven't realized this.

It looks like my state is going to pass a ammendment to increase our education spending to the national average- whatever that is.

NBC had their panel of undecided voters the same as they had last debate. And most of them had made up their minds after this debate (except for one old guy)

It looked like a majority were voting for Bush. Only a couple for Kerry.

The old guy had a good point.

Bush flip/flopped on an issue. He said he won't import drugs from Canada because they aren't proven safe, yet said he would be willing to import the flu vaccine from Canada.

bush is owned by the drug companies. This should be no surprise.

ahhh well. I was set to vote against both Bush and Kerry. Now I'm not so sure. I'm starting to lean towards Bush again. Jeez. Talk about being a flip-flopper.

There are still a few things that really bother me about Bush. The Iraq war, the deficit, and his religious conservatism (stem cells issue mainly).

I'm not surprised... I listened to the debate on the radio, so could concentrate on the content of the answers as opposed to visual stuff. And with the exception of the last question (about women in their families), the content of Kerry's answers was consistently better than Bush's.

On most questions, Bush dithered until he could think of a talking point to interject. Or perhaps he was marking time until the voice in his earpiece finished giving him the answer.

Why?
1. Look at the participants on the thread
2. People here in Poly have consistently underrated Kerry and overrated Bush, at least when compared to the general public- good example is the last debate-same beginning- "Oh, Bush WON, Kerry did poorly"- after a few days, more people said Kerry won than Bush. I think it will be the same today.

Bush is the better of the two. Plain and simple. Kerry has no clue how to fix this country's problems. All he can do is complain about all the things Bush is doing.

And voting for a third party candidate seems so much like a waste of a vote. But I suppose I'll still stick with third party. It's more of a protest vote. A dissident vote.
