Of the two, I'd prefer Sengoku, as you actually get to build other things than just units. But I found it very easy, at least starting at the west or north end of Japan - too much space to REX into . So, perhaps with a start in the middle...

That and the other zillions as well . Lucky me, 'cause a great translator is working on the the Polish editions. Now that somebody noticed, I can start changing sigs.

Rise of Rome or the Shogun.
I'm thinking if RoR wins, mod it to make that minor civ in the NE playable by humans (Scayteans?) and play on Regent.
On Shogun, I'm thinking maybe one of the civs that are on minor landmasses. (As I recall, five) and play on Demigod or Deity.
