I kind of wish we could change the auto censor.

Instead of getting a ***** when you type a censored word you get a substiture word.

For example instead of "b1tch", you get "pregnant dog".

Now that would be amusing

What the claim of censorship means? Maybe: I'm superior to other people, I can read some words, but the others are not prepared to it, so, I'm god, I can censorship... (The same for the breasts of a girl or whatever you want). It's stupid.

Recently the TV channels were punished because in the movie "Saving private Ryan" the characters says "bad words". It's absolutely stupid.

I can't think in democracy with censorship.

you take choose a word that is but a laugh in any pub or beach in Australia...

yet for adults one thing is acceptted

for little ones, censorship allows them to enjoy their childhood.

and yes as you know I do have children, and I allow them access to this site, and to play Civ, and ocasionally to play in the other games forum

although some attitudes in the other games forum could use some censorship / manners too

I have this Somoan lad working with me, who as a new father would be happy to share with anyone his version of censorship and manners not a real pretty site

Btw I am not speaking against your and Plato's opinion; I merely would like to know where you draw the line. I completely understand why you think hard swear words shouldn't be here, though it wouldn't bother me personally. But t1t is a mild word, and has many other legitimate uses anyway.

as to the word in question, alot of it comes down to the context that it is used in, and alot of the times that I think of when that particular word is used, it is mainly in lewd expressions about girls etc

so context means alot to me in dealing with minors

and there are other words that can be used in the English language that do not lower the tone / context of a statement

ahhh, it can be a hard call when a word is out of place, and any old word can be turned into a swear word, just by tone / context

people are fun, and strange all in the one bag of skin. if only these words / tones / contexts / attitudes did not effect children so much yet they are so much like open books, ready to absorb anything and everything that comes their way, and then to use their new found knowledge at the most amazing times usually when it will get their mothers attention, who in turn has no trouble letting me know to watch me mouth around her angels ahh the joys of family politics

Isn't the question whether words which have dual uses should be banned.

As I noted earlier, "dick" used to be banned, but it was getting silly. I don't see an explosion of people using the word "dick" on the forums in response. It seems to me that c-u-m is the same. The only time I've seen it used is in the phrase "Magna *** laude".

No one is asking that **** or ***** be uncensored.

The mods can always ban people who use dual use words in the offensive manner.

There is a forum where the censored words are substituted by "cool thing" and "very cool thing" depending on the word.
