The Turn Player Succession Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

ok we do have a few people here as noted by the wake up call

and we appreciatte all the work the Oct has done to get us here

anyway as only one person can actually play the save at a time, and as we do not all operate on the same time frame, thus making chats hard to organize, may be we could look at other options to get the interest levels raised

I hereby raise this poll with possible solutions

1. leave it as it is
with this next option those that want to list their names, then they play the save for the specified number of turns, then move it along
2. a succession program - 1 turn
3. a succession program - 2 turns
4. a succession program - 3 turns
5. a succession program - 5 turns
6. a succession program - longer
7. elections
8. the dancing yellow party man

I like the succession idea and I could play the save for 5 turns. But, since this is a team game, it would require others to actually post comments and suggestions, not just lurk. And I mean not only about the domestic part, but also about diplomacy and warmaking.

So yes, a succession is good, but only if the whole team participates. Giving the person playing the turns directions concerning important matters is the name of the game, right?

I know that. And post a screenie... or ten of 'em.

The point is, we need comments on those. And if possible, from more people. There seem to be like 5 team members right now, not 19.

Well I've select 5 turn program but I would expect that I can't play until after the 25th. I also think MOdo should be given a pat on the back for trying get everyone else back in the game

Thanks for the pat.

Paddy, believe me, I'm close to doing just that. Still hoping it won't be necessary, though.

Voted Banana as I've probably been absent the longest, so I should abstain.

Work is slow at the moment, so I can contribute in the way of opinions on planning, tactics, etc. However, things can change at any given time, so I think it would be best if I did not volunteer to play turns.

Of course, to give input/feedback we'll need detailed planning and turn reports, etc.

I can put screenies of the empire and start threads for each turn with them. Now that I am also reaceiving the saves, this won't be a problem. And I like doing screenies a lot. The only question is, can you guys handle my not-so-common graphics mod? Check DAR threads for AU 504 and the Succession PBEM to see what I mean. I have reverted to single unit graphics now, but am not changing other graphics back, ever.

The turn reports would be written by the one who plays them, of course.

Suffering from ads?

Voted five turn program. I need a break!

I'll add that team diplomacy, irregardless of the player, should be conducted by one specified team member representing us - maybe one person per other team.

That, and everyone should be prepared to play the game in case the current designated player has a problem getting to it.

Suffering from ads?

Alright then. Starting next turn, I'll be posting screenies of The Empire as soon as I get the save. I will also give information about the number and quality of units in stacks. This will happen in separate threads for each turn with the same naming format that's been used so far.

To the infusion of enthusiasm the "new blood" has given the team. I'm in a similar situation as dejon, work-wise, in that it precludes me from volunteering on a full-time basis, but I do skip by 'Poly for a few minutes most days during the week, and could most likely fill in for a turn here and there in a pinch. A pm would be the easiest thing to notice, if needed.
