After 2 years of using just the default background, I've finally switched the pic to something new. And yes, I'm nothing but a sappy, little *****, its my new girlfriend. Awww.... she's cute.

Switching the background even inspired me to clean up the desktop a bit, and delete or move some old files so I could see more of her face, hehe. I'm such a sap.

I used to hate brushed metal, now I wish all my browsers had it. It is neutral and offsets the colours on the pages very well. White or other colours just get in the way.

I don't use ichat. I use Adium with a customized transparent Bezel for the buddy list. That's more useful than an actual window

To continue with the MSN thing...

It's not just text when it shows what song you're listening to, it's a link (and it shows as a link to others).

When you click on it, it brings up the MSN Music page instantly to the album that contains that song, along with all the options to buy the song (in WMA format of course), preview it, learn more about the artists, check average reviews, similar artists, etc.

A threat to the iTMS?

They stole that feature from an itunes hack. You've been able to do that for some time.

Frankly, I find it obnoxious and annoying, just like Apple's attempt to put arrows linking to the music store next to all your songs and artists in itunes (turned that off right away).

An iTunes hack? Did it work only with iChat AV or something?

As of 2003, there were over 100 million active users of MSN Messenger. I'm thinking that this "little" feature may introduce a lot more people to MSN Music, where they may buy a few songs from.

Boy would they be pissed to learn Apple won't let them play it on their iPod.

Heck no. I love my green theme. Can't get any better than green & black. Its so heavenly. I even reverted the look back to a win98 type look, even though I've got XP. I don't like things all swoopy and crome. Gimmie simple, straight lines; black & green and I'm happy.

I got ObjectDock, and then started stripping it down to the things I'd actually use. When it got down to one thing (the weather), I thought it probably wasn't worthwhile, and uninstalled it again.

Then I got Windowblinds, to get me a sexy sleek looking theme and stuff. So I spent an hour or so trawling through the most godawful monstrous themes ever - I swear the people who make these things are utterly devoid of taste. And got down to a shortlist of two. Which looked quite similar to the default Windows look anyway. And then I got pissed off with it taking more seconds to load up every time, and general wastage time that goes into any unnecessarily graphical thingummy, and uninstalled that as well.

I would like a new Start button though.

That's why I didn't get Windowblinds. I checked the available themes and they were either ugly, similar to Windows or a Mac clone. Changing my wallpaper once in a while is good enough for me. However, I would like to change the christmas-themed start button.

One of the advantages of Style XP is that it doesn't run in the background. If you want to change your desktop theme, start Style XP and choose one. Once your happy with your new theme, you can simply close Style XP.

Mono, why are you using the terrible and slow Firefox for OS X when you can use Camino, the fastest and most stable OS X browser?

It's the same rendering engine, only Camino has a native OS X UI.

Yay.. Hein Mevissen's new icon set came out today. He's the best...

I had to pay 6 bucks to update my shareware icon program, but it was worth it.

As for buying music, I have elected allofmp3 to be my favorite music store and I have bought several songs there already. The price is very well okay, they did have right away what I searched for and everything works fine. Plus I can choose the coding and the format.
