I don't use the Canadian keyboard layout as it sucks (well it's Canadian, after all). The US flag only shows because I have a selection of Polytonic Greek keyboards that I use along with the main one.

Apparently so. It does daft things like replace the single quote with an "é".

It's a government thing, no doubt because of the bilingualism. I don't see any other use for it. No doubt the Canadian Government is a customer of Apple's and asked for it.

It's not much work, you could do your own custom keyboard layout in 5 minutes.
