The patch isn't working for me! Support Apolyton, buy Civilization III: Complete

Hey guys.. Me and Deity Dude were trying to play a game together. But there was a error. I was trying to install the patch so I could play mutilplayer games with everyone. But its not working. I can download it but when I try to install it nothing happens. Can anyone plz Help me?
I have windows XP and Multiplayer Gold Edition.

Where did you get your patch from?

Let's set up a game, maybe it's a firewall issue.

he has civ 2 gold - for some reason his comp wont let him install the patch - he is using the patch I used and have sent to plenty other players.

When I click on it, it sets up some files and then prompts for what Language I want to use

When he clicks on it, it does the file set up but then fails.

I thought it might be an XP issue but Im not sure

Hopefully someone can help him figure it out, Ive run out of ideas.

the version he was referring to is the version of the patch when u view its properties. same as my version
