Saint Marcus, there are examples of Americans caring for wounded Iraqis who they knew posed no threat. In the mosque, one of the wounded Iraqis clearly was surrendering. The other was playing dead. Now why he was playing dead is open to conjecture, but there seems to have been a pattern of such Iraqis triggering booby traps when Americans are close that these particular Marines had experienced first hand in the preceding days.
Given these facts, I think the Marine is not guilty. But, I am only relying on what people here have said are the facts. I assume that the commanding general will hold a hearing to get to the truth.
