When McMeadows stepped to the throne he felt a little uncomfortable. He had not expected to rule England yet. Young and unexperienced as he knew he was, he had to gain the trust of his people fast or he would not be taken serious during his reign.
Youth also brings ambition, determination to achieve victory. Here he stood on the battle field, at war with the Aztecs and at the door of their capital. AVENGEANCE, as the former king found his grave here on these battlefields
950 AD Aztecs lost: 7 pikemen, 2 longbowmen & 1 knight. England lost: 2 MI, and in counterattack also 2 pikemen & 1 archer. The Aztec capital Tenochtitlan with the Great Library & Oracle was captured.

Ottomans received theology in return for gems, 7 gpt & 17 gold
970 AD Aztecs lost: 1 longbowman, 1 knight & 1 MI in their counterattack lost 1 longbowman extra. England lost, in counterattack: 1 MI
980 AD More secrets were reveiled studying the boolks in the Great Library: printing press, gunpowder, chemistry & education. Aztecs lost: 1 longbowman.
Japanese received printing press in return for 34 gpt & 79 gold
Mayans received printing press in return for 4 gpt, 12 gold & contact with the Indians
Indians received printing press in return for 23 gold & contact with: Romans, Dutch, Zulu, Byzantines, Vikings & Russians
Byzantines received theology in return for 12 gold & contact with: Mongols, Greeks & Germans

Mongols received monotheism in return for 5 gold & contact with: Babylonians, Persians, Portugese & Cathaginians
Portugese received monotheism in return for 22 gold & contact with: Celts
Chinese received polytheism in return for 25 gold
Greek received Mathmeatics in return for contact with: Koreans
Germans received printing press in return for 15 gpt & 44 gold
Zulus received philosophy in return for 24 gold
990 AD England lost, in counterattack: 1 MI & 2 slaves. Aztecs lost: 2 MI.
Romans received chemistry in return for 12 gpt, 24 gold & contact with: French
French received pottery in return for 3 gold & 1 night with Joan
1000 AD England lost, in counterattack: 1 pikeman. Aztecs lost: 1 longbowman & 4 pikemen. England lost: 3 MI. Tlacopan was razed.
Japanese recevied silks in return for 4 gpt
1010 AD Aztecs lost: 3 pikemen & 2 longbowmen. England lost 2 MI. Malinalco captured (next to a saltpeter source).
1020 AD Aztecs lost: 1 knight.
1030 AD Aztecs lost: 3 pikemen. From the English ranks a young hero McMeadows IV (indeed the sun of the ruling king) inspired a great leader, Boudicea. Calixt was razed. Peace was negotiated with the Aztecs earning the English 15 gold. Mooing Meadow founded.
1050 AD French received polytheism in return for 17 gold & another night with Joan

Now all hail the ruler King Snoopy IV and hear of his great and glorious reign ...
(all years AD)
1100: Spain refuses to leave our territory and declares WAR on the glorious Nation of England. Death and destruction will ensue. Our glorious Trebuchet army doth head toward the Spanish Capital of Seville, and a quick raid on Murcia is launched; failing to capture the city but significant damage is done by our great Knights of the Round Table.
1110: Spain attacks Reading; fails to capture it. A Longbowman is made in that city, the better to defend it with.
1120: Trebuchets fail to do significant damage to Spanish defenders of Seville; attack delayed a few turns so to mop up Spanish offensive units in the area.
1130: Reading finally falls, but not after defenders fought bravely...
1140: A significant force of Knights heads to Seville to back up the trebuchets who have been working over the Spanish army there. No units destroyed yet, but a good idea of the size of their force has been obtained.
1150: Hail to the Victors valiant ... Hail to the Conquering Heroes! rings through the streets of fair Seville, which is now under the control of the English Hordes. The great Trebuchet force was instrumental in taking Seville with no losses of forces, weakening the units defending Seville significantly (a far cry from the 2/12 shot in 1120, they went 7/12!) Next up: Barcelona! Spanish leaders run to Toledo ...
Also, many trades occur due to our discovery of astronomy (sadly 2 turns after Iroquois/Hittites). We obtain Banking from Rome, and some money from the Ottomans for Education. We work on Physics hoping to acquire that before the Hittites ...
1160: Democracy and Metallurgy are discovered by the Hittites (and presumably someone else, but I haven't figured out who yet! - i don't see anyone who does anywho, and we don't need any communications the hittites have!) ... both in the last couple of turns though. They get some free techs??
1170: Norwich falls due to bad luck and a failure to reinforce - but knights will retake shortly. Barcelona is now under siege and will soon fall to our superior forces...
1180: Barcelona taken!!! No losses again because of the valiance of our trebuchets.
1190: Barcelona revolts that was fast ...
1200: Barcelona retaken; Madrid nearly under siege...
1210: Madrid under siege. Aztecs moving toward us??
1220: Aztecs move in with 6 knights ... but move out at my request. Weird. Anywho madrid gets bombarded, but we need more units (they have 4 musketmen)...
1230: Aztecs again move in, 8 knights now, again leave. Still need more units (our 2 resupply knights got hit, they're alive but injured, so heading back)
1240: Again with the aztecs, again leave. Again bombard madrid, again don't attack.
Here is the save ...
Huge AD 1240 Save

A few comments on my strategy so you know what i'm doing:
1. Take the better parts of spain - mostly toledo, santiago, and madrid, but probably also the rest of that continent just to prevent reversions. Toledo is producing a Wonder, so it's out of the picture for now (not a threat, so not bothering with it until convenient, was my strategy). Spain's strategy has been send a few longbowmen or MI at me every few turns; knights can repel them easily.
2. Keep Aztecs from declaring on us, but be prepared if they do (and they will, don't doubt that). Don't forget to tell them to leave your territory every turn. They hae been sending in knights; if they get through so they can attack, they will, but they'll leave if asked. I left a captured worker in a specific place - the one spot where they could attack Tenochtitlan in a single turn rather than having to take two - because they won't attack if it's there.
3. Trade Physics for GPT with Hittites, NOT metallurgy. They have a tooon of gold, many thousands, and will trade a lot of gold for it. Someone else will give us metallurgy later - or we'll get it on our own - or whatever, but it's not worth it to take metallurgy instead of the +200 gpt we might get for physics. 4,000 gold is more than the number of beakers it will take to get metallurgy... Iroquois are a good bet to get metallurgy anywho. (Hoping we get physics before hittites ...)
4. Eventually we'll get a trade route with Sumeria (after Madrid falls in 1250 probably) and then trade Engineering or Theology for as much GPT as possible + incense... and i suspect many of the late McM's deals for high GPT are going to expire, so I suggest renewing them for more tech. (About 10 of the civs are each sending +10gpt or so, allowing us to run 0gpt tax rate.)
5. I have been building a canal (irrigation streak) to the west and tenochtitlan; you'll probably want to mine back over some of that, some were irrigated just so we can irrigate some other squares (no river on the W coast!).
That's about it. Copernicus is going to finish shortly (barring any major emergencies). If it is aborted, Ottomans will trade us Music Theory for astronomy (and we can change Cop. to JS Bach, unless that's finished by AI too). I'm hoping secretly that Toledo finishes JS Bach so we can take it ...
