Most of the really cheap ethnic joints are Chinese, Korean, Italian, or Mexican though there are few central American ones which are cheap too. There are plenty of other ethnic restaurants but most of them are moderate to upper priced.

I've eaten at two Argentine restaurants and I must say the food was good. Argentina seems to be the only non-English speaking country where you can get a good steak almost any where. The US, Canada, Australia and the rest know good steaks but similiar quality is hard to find. Ever ordered a steak in a Panamanian restaurant? Yuck, thin cut not to juicy. The same in Germany, the balkans, nontouristified Mexico, or just about any where in Asia.

Nah. The best boiger I ever had was at Dick's Last Resort, hand's down. I think it was an accident though, as it's never been that good since.

Following Imran's post I went to the Hardee's & Carl
s Jr web sites. I must say that the locations of the two companies restaurants is very complimentary. There is almost no over lap and once the two truly merge opporations the only part of the country not covered will be Pennsylvaia up to New England though they could use a few more in Alaska).

As far as I'm concerned the only fast food place which even comes close to Carl's in quality of taste is Jack in the Box.

BK is now in third place, behind McD's and Wendy's. All things considered it'll probably go lower and with all the competition these days it will most likely get marginalized. ON the upside there is a new policy in BK for clean restaurants being enforced with a heavy hand. Stores that don't pass the tests get closed down.

But aside from that... screw burgers. Give me a Johnny's Beef Italian and Ice any day of the week over a burger.
