Well, here we are. The game will hit the shelves next Monday. I guess I know what I'll be playing this Thanksgiving break.

Yeah...too many games I want to play out are right for Thanksgiving. Well, two are. I'll be staying with my girlfriend though so kinda unfortunantly I won't get to play Pirates.

I'd love to grab this game right away but the way my RL is shaping up, I won't have much time to play games until perhaps after January. That's what I thought to myself, the advantage of waiting is patches

From previews I read, it seems the original gameplay was not messed up too much. That's a good sign.

The only thing that may screw things up is the dance minigame with the characters talking like The Sims. I hope hearing the characters talk gibberish won't ruin the atmosphere.

I got the games! It is really cool. The graphics rock and the gameplay is really close to the original. And the new features are a welcome addition. If the graphics weren't so pretty, it'd feel like you were playing the original

If you've never played the original, you'll still love this game. The graphics are gorgeous. The interface is very good. In fact, if you've seen screenshots you probably noticed the keypad in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It is a really handy reference when learning what buttons to use.

The game itself is a lot of fun. There are other evil pirates you can chase and get rewards. There are villains who hurt your family that you can enact revenge. You can court the governors' daughter. There is a backstory but the game really lets you do anything you want. There are no restrictions on your strategy. You can be a nice trader or a vicious pirate. You can go anywhere, do anything.
