quote: I've decided it pisses some people off if I come clean and say I like Japanese girls. |
No, winston, it's the way it's being said.
Liking asians because they're exotic and different, well... Even if you don't have a case of yellow fever, is what it certainly reads as at a faint level.
Yes, exoticism can lend a certain allure and attraction, but at a certain point--one that occurs all to often--it ends up seeming as if the Asian female is boxed into a specific stereotype and that the male is more attracted to a purported Asian "ideal" rather than the woman herself.
That's the danger of yellow fever.
admittedly, the problem with diagnosing it without actually seeing it in action is that first off, there's nothing wrong with cross-ethnic matchups. those should, after all, be encouraged. however, there are enough cases of it and how it's portrayed that often times it's easier to assume that someone might be touched with it rather than not.

quote: I just feel that e.g. women from Japan who are presented for male viewing pleasure on the web are generally more natural looking, unspoiled looking if you will, than their traditional Western counterparts. |
If you're referring to Japanese porn, then yes, maybe their enhancements are a bit less grotesque or absurd, but the flip side is the porn can be a lot more degrading and more about power. Not only that, it also seems to be fixated on much younger-looking women than western pornography.
quote: I also find most of the Japanese girls and women I've been looking at to be stunningly beautiful with a lot of positive radiance to them. |
"Stunningly beautiful", "positive radiance"... what does that mean? Granted, I could be reading too much into it... but it certainly sounds like you're letting the fact that they're Japanese, Asian, exotic give them an aura that, well, is different.
so, which do you prefer? the fiery and dominating dragon-lady? or the demure and submissive cherry blossom?

Yes, I think you're reading too much into it. I'd actually never heard the term "yellow fever" before it was brought up here, but of course I could instantly figure out what was meant by it...
To me, it's a matter of voyeuristic preference , nothing more than that. Though I still don't fully see the problem if it were more than that..
I don't feel I'm obsessed with women or girls outside my own cultural sphere. Heck, I don't even think I'm obsessed with women or girls at all! I just like to look at them every once in a while.
Was it Groucho Marx who said that women were like elephants, they're fun to look at, but he'd never want to live with one.
Now that may be overstating things just a little, but just to give you an idea of the level of interest we're talking about here.
That being said, as to your last question, cherry blossoms are nice. I don't know where the submissive part enters into it, and the meaning of the word semure escapes me.
