How about another Succession game? Anyone?
I'd like to give people who haven't played in one before a chance to play, but also include anyone interested, depending on the level of interest. Perhaps a couple of games.
The poll allows you to vote on size of map and # of civs.
Suggestions for Civ would be grand, as well as anything else of interest settings-wise...
Okay, we've started. A few notes:
* Each turn is 20 turns to begin with, and when we hit each new era 5 turns come off - so when we hit the middle ages 15 turns each, industrial revolution 10 turns, and modern era 5 turns. This change takes place at the beginning of Player 1 (ie me)'s turn - it's up to me, more or less, to figure out when we're close enough to that era to change the turn numbers. Usually it goes 2 rounds before we change to 15 turns each player.
* Use the F8 screen to see what turn it is. Save the game either before hitting "spacebar" for end of turn on the final turn, or just after hitting it, without any moves, on the next turn.
* Please post at minimum a screenshot of the map of the world, or at least our part of it. More posts are better.
* Please try to let everyone play their own style. You're expected to play the game when you're in charge to the best of your ability, but you can play any way you want - understanding that the rest of us will do the same.
* Email your turn to the next player, so they see it, as well as posting it here, so we can all look at it if we want to.
* Finally, have fun. That's what we're here for.

Hmm. I can't tell what people voted for, but it looks like Large map wins 4 to 3 ... continents 3 to pangea 3 to archipelago 1, which hmm, i know i and lmtoops went continents, modo went pangea, hmm. 12 civs and 16 civs also tied at 3, but with a large map 12 civs is the default winner since 16 doesn't fit well.
Well, it's my game to start so i'll break the tie with continents i guess Starting shortly, will post a screenie
Modo, i have GIMP, but i can't paste a screenshot in it! I have to paste into Paint, and then save, and then reload into gimp. Is that normal, or am I dumb?

4000 BC: Not a great start, but not a bad one - on a river at least. We're the Iroquois, chosen mostly off the top of my head since nobody said anything. Playing on Emperor level.
3950 BC: Starting with Writing as usual; starting on a Granary at Salamanca.
3700 BC: God I hate emperor ... stupid luxuries ...
The rest of the turns were spent exploring and upping luxuries. One other river in the area, which is ok, but a desert away, which is annoying. (But we're ag, so desert isn't as horrible as it sounds - just means a bit of a distance in the empire to begin with.) Haven't found any civs yet (well, when I kept going to test Galleys/Curraghs I did, but i'm not going to spoil anything.) Curraghs/galleys DO work, by the way, just like in AU Mod - ocean impassable to curraghs and +1 mp in sea for curraghs, but galleys go through sea fine. (However, nothing else is au-mod.) Curraghs also carry 1 unit, and have Naval Transport instead of Naval Power checked for the AI.
Whomever wants to play next, step up. I'll fix the turn order once all five of you have played. Don't forget it's emperor, so that lux slider is your friend Fortunately we have a good settler pump city in Salamanca, so this game should go pretty well.

Alright, I'm onto it now. Will report as I play.
2950 BC
- Switch to Settler (lose 3 shields). Granary will be next.
- Worker inefficiency spotted, but can't be corrected. It's Chop first, then Road, Snoopy.

2750 BC
- Found Niagara Falls 3 tiles south of Salamanca. It has a Cattle tile, a Fish tile and some nice Grassland.
- Pop a hut with the exploring Warrior. Barbs.

2710 BC
- Warrior survived. Barbs move towards Salamanca...
- Forest Chopped, but shields went to Niagara Falls. Oh well.
2630 BC
- Warrior fortifies to try and distract the barbs.
- Start Irrigation near Salamanca.
2510 BC
- Warrior killed both remaining barbs without a scratch.
Now he heads south to keep exploring.
2390 BC
- Warrior will have to stay in Salamanca, because MP is needed.
- Granary in Salamanca in 6 turns, growth in 7 turns. Perfect timing.
2310 BC
- Move scouting Warrior to Salamanca, move Warrior from Salamanca to Niagara Falls (needs MP).
- Granary in Salamanca in 4 turns, growth in 5.
2150 BC
- The Granary in Salamanca is ready, the (badly needed) second Worker started.
- Slow down growth in Niagara Falls, to time it after the Granary is completed.

Looks like we've got an island for ourselves. That should be interesting...
2110 BC starts, and I'm off to the Vikings again.
