BTW, I understand that CBS is going to hire Katie Courick (sp?) to replace Dan Rather. She is well known as an extremist Democrat, higly partisan to the left.

Well so much for my own hopes that CBS would actually hire a Republican to give some balance to the Evening News.

The conservative spinners are commentators, not news casters, Sava. The news itself is just stated as one might expect. Just not with the anti-American comments or sneers one has come to expect from most media other than FOX.

As for Bill O'Reilly being a "traditionalist", that was his BS rational when Russert asked him about the perception Fox has a conservative bias. O'Reilly actually argued there was no Republican/conservative bias at Fox and cited the primetime line up as his proof of this objectivity. The facts? Fox is a news analysis network with a Republican and more (socially) conservative POV interspersed with tidbits of "news".

Why the success? Because Republicans and conservatives have lacked a big outlet of their own and after being stuck for decades with more liberal news outlets, Fox gave them that outlet and they watch.

Q, I think you over-interpreted my remarks. I was speaking in reply to several vomit commentaries by Marxists. Obviously, they do need their own network outlet that proudly flys the hammer and sickle.

But, clearly, what upsets many about FOX is that it is pro-American on the whole. You will find numerous Democrats who admit that they protray a frankly anti-American attitude that increasingly does not play well among the "folks." Many Democrats admit that ostracizing the likes of Lieberman and other so-called "moderate" Democrats is central to their becoming a minority party. Other Democrats, like Dean, strongly disagree.

We shall see where the party moves in the future. But you will find almost universal support and praise for Lieberman on FOX, illustrating that the problem most Democrats have with FOX is highly related to their anti-Americanism.

Not true, I saw Carl Cameron (Fox' news update journalist) repeatedly refer to Kerry's criticisms of Bush as attacks but rarely if ever said Bush was attacking Kerry. But why does Fox devote more airtime to these conservative spinners than liberal spinners or God forbid, news, if it was fair and balanced?

But most media other than FOX is almost overtly anti-Republican even if they are perceived as grossly right-wing by foreign leftists. Think if Dan Rather's numerous "stories" on Bush and the war that seem to be supported by dubious documents and the like.

I personally think that it is high time for other major media to hire a Republican managing editor. I thought CBS would do so in replacing Rather in order to move CBS back into the mainstream and gain more viewers. Instead, they are about to hire the most ardent, pro-Democrat person they could possibly find. Ugh! So much of CBS New's future. It has none.
