Dissident, actually the age group that is at the highest risk for TC is men in their early 20s. Perhaps you are thinking of prostate cancer?

DRD, I'm glad you caught this early. TC is easily treatable if caught early. If caught late... well a friend of mine died from TC two years ago. And he was only 24 years old. Unlike you, he ignored all warning signs and did not get himself dx-ed until years later when the cancer was already in its advanced stages.

Hang in there and I am confident that with a good doctor you will be fine.

Actually most of the time when a tumor or whatever is found, it's usually by a lover. For some reason it's like taboo for a guy to check himself out.

I had some other updates earlier in this thread, but simply as it stands I don't have cancer. At least the urologist doesn't think so at this point. It seems to only be an infection, a type that is common for men.

I'm very sorry about your friend, Barinthus.

My stepdad is similar in that he hates seeing doctors because he had to deal with a real ***** a few years back shortly after we moved here in '86 when he was suffering with gout (joint inflamation with severe accompanying pain). The doctor took 3 freakin' days to get back to him! Richard called his pharmisist brother in Illinois for meds instead. He has always distrusted doctors, but that one just about did it for him.

Beyond that, there really isn't much to say: The doctor looked at my 2nd ultrasound, didn't see what was there in the first one, and my symptoms cleared about a week before I saw him for the 2nd and (hopefully) last time.

Not to freak you out or anything but at grand rounds I've seen reviews of scrotal infections with MRSA that would make anyone wish for testicular cancer. Unbelievably nasty!
