Man, what horrible clock management by the Eagles at the end. If they actually played like they cared at the end, they may have had a chance.

Glad Branch won the MVP. 11 catches and kept the Pats moving. And Brady didn't impress me that much.

Though the one thing that probably will be forgotten (unfortunetly) is how GREAT Owens played! I mean it was been 6 weeks since he had the surgery that took Steve Smith out the entire year (and he got it in the first month of the season) and he caught 9 balls for over 100 yards! WOW! That's greatness.

Oh, and Paul McCartney's halftime show:

BEST. IDEA. EVER! Ya still got it Paul.

Thx Reis for running Lombardi

but could you explain the scoring for the SB. I seem to have gone from 4th to 7th even after getting 20 points for NE winning the SB.

yeah it's pretty sad when I enjoy the halftime show of old fogey music more than young hip music of last year. the breast didn't bother me last year, the music and performances did.

I must be getting old

I'm 16, and I preferred McCartney to any of the Shania Twain Janet Timberlake NSync crap they've had recently.

So that shouldn't make you feel old. Just sensible.

And it was a pretty cool stage . McCartney also picked some great songs, including some rocking Beatles' classics .

That's why music today sucks. They've forgotten that it's about substance, NOT style!

I think they should remember this and next year give the Halftime to ONE act who actually can perform. It can be a modern group if need be, but one who has substance behind them.

You can't have a "dynasty" without doing "da nasty"...or something like that

Patriots, obviously, rule. My away message (for those who don't check my profile on AIM every day) has been the following since September:

quote:
"The Eagles finally will make it to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for them, so will the team from New England that we'll all be calling a dynasty in February." - Dan Pompei, The Sporting News

So about the SuperBowl...Boston's done partying. I think we're all partied out. There was little activity on the streets tonight. Two SuperBowls and one World Championship in ~a year, plus a National Convention and a Presidential Election Night Rally (not to mention dirty bomb scares) are quite a bit to handle.

I'm glad the MVP went to Branch. He's one of those receivers who never gets his due because NE has so many weapons on the offense, as opposed to, say...Philadelphia, which has TO. The contrast between the two was, in my opinion, striking.

The game itself was great. It had so many shifts in momentum. I'm glad Philly made it more interesting in the end, but then ****ed it up hardcore on their last "drive".

Halftime: What a load of bullcrap. I hated it a lot. Well...maybe its because I don't like the Beatles. But I do like Paul McCartney, as well as 'Hey Jude'. I guess it was mostly the fact that THEY HAD THE WORD "NA" IN THE STANDS. I just hate stuff like that. Glad they ended with the Statue of Liberty...considering the First Amendment liberties that are being taken away thanks to the last halftime show.

Commercials: FedEx, Ameriquest, and Oldsmobile (I think) were my favorites (the latter played very late...it had a guy going after his daughter who took his car to marry her boyfriend...and he told her to take her mother's instead...very funny ending)

Oh, and Jaguar: I just read 5 pages of SuperBowl notes, and about half the time you're fawning over Ted Striker. You no longer have any justification for questioning my sexuality

All in all...I think this was a bit better than mono's "Woo" post .
