POD Jutland 1916 Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I like the idea of a mid-war POD. 1917 was a bleak year, but 1916 was the shocker.

In that year, Verdun severely bled both the Germans and French. The Somme scarred Britain deeply. The Brusilov offensive crippled AH, and its aftermath destroyed the Czarist army's morale. On the minor fronts, the Allies were being humiliated. Al Kut represented the single greatest surrender of British-led forces in history (until Singapore). The advance through the Sinai was going at a snail's pace. In East Africa, German colonists were delaying the inevitable surprisingly well. Sanusis, Tauregs, and Sudanese rebels were giving the French, Italian, and Anglo-Egyptians their toughest year of the war.

Then there was Jutland. Not much of a battle, but it lost the war for the Germans.

So for a POD, how about this?

  • The Germans suffer a more devastating defeat at Verdun.
  • The Brits fare worse at the Somme, severely shaking their morale.
  • The Germans win at Jutland, leading to a lifting of the blockade.

Other fronts proceed pretty much along historical lines.

BUT...
Britain's confidence is shaken. Remember the government was historically in a flux in 1916. France is flush with victory from Verdun, but knows it cannot take on Germany alone. Germany realizes it cannot achieve anything more than a Pyrrhic victory against France. On the other hand, decisive victories can be had in the East, if only enough troops could be diverted.

SO...
A truce is declared in the West. Perhaps, Germany makes some concessions, but not many. Although the High Seas Fleet has achieved parity in the North Sea, both sides realize that the RN is growing faster than the HSF. Continued fighting would only achieve stalemate.

In the East, Rumania and Russia collapse in the historical manner. Although the German Army captures vast areas of Russia, they eventually learn that partisans can make occupation economically unviable. Plus, there's the problem of seditious Bolshevik ideas getting into the minds of the occupying troops.

Turkey still survives as the Sick Man. Basra/Abadan and Egypt are firmly in British hands, but the Turks realize their pan-Turanic dream of an empire stretching from the Mediterranean to the Caspian Seas. Enver's inept adventurism leads to a takeover by a less pro-German faction led by Ataturk. As happened historically, Germans and Turks skirmish on the Georgian-Azeri border.

Some Naval units, if you need them, included are some russian and french dreadnoughts, the british aircraft carrier argus, the austrian dreadnought Viribus Unitis, german battlecruisers goeben, von der tann, deffinger and hindenburg and the british battlecruiser lion, the defflinger and hindenburg mounted 8 12 inch guns, the defflinger was commissioned in 1914 and the hindenburg in 1919, both were scuttled at scapa flow, but since that never happened in your timeline, they would be active in the german high seas fleet, i wanted to make a Mackensen Class, but i couldn't find any pictures, beacause none of the Mackensen Class were completed, i assume in your timeline they would have been completed
