The war on pigs progresses very successfully, frankly well beyond my most optimistic hopes and dreams. Still, we must not surrender to euphoria. War, even though it is victorious for us at the moment is still not won. So, after a night of celebration at the wild boar, I sobered up by contemplating about the following issues:
1) Memphis is empty and the warrior guarding it was moved to protect the pig workers. Three possibilities:
1a) The pigs manage to move defenders to protect Memphis. I suggest we move away from Memphis with our wounded Devastator. A second option is to attack the unit in Memphis if regular warrior, but that's risky for two reasons: It may not be the only unit and even if only unit Devastator will likely lose (2 HP vs 3HP). Still, it might be worth a shot, because if successful it is going to be crushing for the pigs.
1b) The pigs leave Memphis empty. Here we have 3 possibilities: Size 4 Memphis, size 3 Memphis and size 2 Memphis (result of a pop rush). We will undoubtedly take Memphis in any case, but are we going to keep it or raze it, that's another question. I'm for razing Memphis if size 4 or 3 and keeping if size 2 because we won't be able to quell more than one resister with only one unit inside the city. Also, shoul the pigs manage to retake Memphis, it will be auto razed if size 1. The idea of capturing and keeping Memphis regardless of its size has its merit because it will in that case act as a magnet for pig forces thus probably softening the defence of their heathen capital.
2) Heliopolis is empty, but we know there is a warrior just outside Heliopolis which is likely going to go back. What do we do? Two options:
2a) Attack Heliopolis with our conscript BBB. Similar to 1a, if successful that will be a major blow pigs will never be able to recover from. In the case of Heliopolis we may wish to consider the option to keep it, not raze it even if large city because we have our elite Bataar who may be able to come down there and help our BBB in restoring order.
2b) Move 6 to threaten the newest and probably empty pig city.
3) Our Bataar is elite and very precious. We can't risk him by coming closer to Home to see what is going on there. If we do that he may be attacked by archers. Instead we should keep Bataar near the porker border and move it south toward the newly built porker city east of Heliopolis.
4) Our two archers can either proceed toward the pigs alone or wait one turn to be joined by 3 swords. I'm for delaying their advance for one turn. It is essential to provide our archers better protection.
5) Proximity of Colin. We suspect the pigs and the DR have a tech agreement and maybe also a defensive alliance. Therefore there is a certain risk the DR may go on offensive against us. Do not underestimate their vet warrior Colin - he is a real threat. For that reason I recommend we change our builds in Bloodview and Iron city to warriors or archers to be prepared to dispatch Colin should he decide to attack our poorly guarded rear.
That's all for now. More will follow tonight.
