Also posted in the Porker thread:
quote: Lord Krill,
As The Ambassador to The Ankh-Morpork nation, The Great and Glorious Khan has copied me on your most recent communication. We enjoyed reading it as we reviewed the communications from our field commanders. Perhaps there will be a jester’s position open for you in The Khan’s court at the conclusion of your nation’s destruction.
Your offer is hereby officially rejected by The Khan and The Great Council of the Horde.
Again your backward nation has demonstrated its arrogance by subverting normal diplomatic channels. The Khan may, at his pleasure, respond to such items, but most on the Council agree that it is a further insult to his appointed and accepted Ambassador. It is these type of insults…not responding to co-operation offers, accusing us of aggression while we are fulfilling our agreements, attempting to order our troop movements, and even now trying to subvert normal diplomatic channels…that have caused the Great Council of the Horde to take action.
However, on the small chance that these actions may be based on the backward nature of Ankh-Morpork, we shall offer the following:
1.) Immediate disbandment of all Ankh-Morpork units
2.) Immediate transfer of all cities with the exception of Home to The Blood Oath Horde.
3.) Reparations to The Blood Oath Horde in the amount of 20gpt
4.) No further construction of military units until and if The Khan decides that you may build them.
5.) Agreement to allow Blood Oath Horde troops to be stationed on Ankh-Morpork lands for all eternity.
6.) No tech research without specific Blood Oath Horde agreement
7.) All trades with other nations must be approved by The Great Council of The Blood Oath Horde.
8.) All future expansion must be approved by The Blood Oath Horde
We hope that you will accept these terms, but given the nature of your transgressions we will certainly not mourn if you do not.
The word of Heavy Axes heroic death has spread among all our troops. His name calls out for vengeance…He was Horde! Your people will soon understand what that truly means.
I remain,
PLATO
Ambassador of The Blood Oath Horde

With the dispatching of our Warrior near the Pig Horses, would it not be studious of us to divert our main war stack (or part of it) to disconnect the pigs from their precious horses resource?
They seem very reluctant to pop-rush, and if we can sever the horses before they are convinced to sacrifice their population, then they won’t be able to rush War-Chariots in Home when our force comes knocking.
If we head down to Treacle Mine with our force, The pigs are left with few options, move off the Mountain to help defend Treacle, or stay put until we threaten Home once again. But we would be attacking from a different direction. I say if the Spears like their view of the battle from the mountains then leave them to their perch to watch the fall of their nation around them. If they do come down, then attacking them off the mountains will be better for us.
BTW, do they get a better defensive bonus from within a City than within a town? I can’t remember.

Your loyal Soothsayer and Ambassador has begun a disinformation campaign to cover our attack on Memphis!!
In order for the RED GUARD to be able to move safely into position for the attack, I have had the following chat with ormuzd:
Plato says:
Greetings Lord ormuzd!
Todor says:
hello
Plato says:
I received your message and have forwarded it to our Great Council.
Plato says:
Perhaps you would like to give us some insight on why we should consider this seriously?
Todor says:
I guess this army is a significant part of your entire military
loosing it will be not the best thing you could do
Todor says:
and it is your business to consider it serious or not serious
Plato says:
We see no threat to it, nor is it the major part of our military.
Plato says:
It appears that you are the one in danger of being "Homeless"...so to speak
Todor says:
true
Todor says:
then do not send it to your counsel
Todor says:
no reason to distract them
Plato says:
hehe...indeed. Be it known that you are considered an honourable enemy leader...although you governments positions are not looked at that way. I thought that I would give you the opportunity to give us reason to consider your statements seriously.
Todor says:
a reason...
Todor says:
both our teams will suffer
Todor says:
you have 5 swords, two archers a warrior
Todor says:
you'll loose half the army attacking the swords
after this you'll need to attack a city crossing a river
Todor says:
to take the other cities (if you survive the attack against our Home) you'll need to go in the open
Todor says:
do you really believe we don't have any military units? are you so confident we have only warriors and one regular horseman?
Todor says:
but it is your decision
Plato says:
Well, you know my experience in these things is limited. It does seem to me that we have much to gain and you much to lose. Our civilization could recover easily from the loss of half our army. How would yours recover from the loss of Home? It does not seem that you are giving me a good reason to advocate negotiation with you to my council.
Todor says:
half for the spearmen on the mountain
Todor says:
* half the army for the spearmen
Plato says:
hmmm...Then tell ormuzd...why should there be piece. You acknowledge that Home may fall (albiet at a cost to us). Your position is that your defense is strong. I believe that the RED GUARD has considered these things. Other than weakening our teams (which, again, I believe applies more to you than to us), why should we consider a recall of our troops?
Plato says:
It seems that you are wishing for peace, but not really offering anything for it.
Todor says:
because I don't want to loose Home?
Plato says:
hehe...I can see that for sure. I guess the question is: Why shouldn't we take it?
Todor says:
because you will not
Todor says:
I personally will abandon it
Plato says:
hmmm...A tradgedy that would be for your people. Do you have any incentive to offer us so that we might consider avoiding these things?
Todor says:
no, you have harmed us enough
Todor says:
anything more will mean I don't have a reason to continue playing and I'll do my best to inflict maximum damage to you in and out of game
Todor says:
without thinking about defense
Todor says:
sometimes the RNG may help to overcome far more superior troops
Plato says:
hehe...indeed. But the RNG seems to work both ways.
Todor says:
seems to work against us
Todor says:
exactly two battles won
Todor says:
no, 3
Plato says:
Okay...Let me try to do this. I will take this chat to the council. I will see if they will consider a one turn armistice in order for you to consult with Krill on making sure that there is nothing further that your civilization would offer for peace. If you truly want peace, which I believe you do, then there must be something more offered.
Plato says:
I will even ask that we move our troops away from Home and your spears. NO GUARANTEES that the council will accept this armistace. I am a low ranking ambassador.
Todor says:
look
Todor says:
the only thing you will achieve is destroy us
Todor says:
probably making some elite units
Todor says:
I seriously doubt you will get a leader
Todor says:
you will get no more workers
you will capture no cities
Todor says:
due to the high culture we will spot any fast moving units early enough
Todor says:
actually we are not dead and totally defenseless
Todor says:
but we are already way behind all other teams
Todor says:
we are not a real threat anymore
Todor says:
if I didn't attacked your warrior by mistake we could have reached our workers and you would have two less slaves
but I did it
Todor says:
if krill didn't insist so much to offer you our chariot you would have to worry about a little threat
but we did and you received anoth free promotion
Todor says:
so, I'm disappointed we have made so many mistakes (there were others too)
but I'm even more disappointed each mistake was penalised
and finally the luck turned its back to us
Plato says:
ormuzd, we are just not seeing any real incentive to stop the attack. You must come up with some suggestions for me take to my council. The drums of war are beating loudly there. Are you rejecting a chance at a one term armistice to consult with your team? If so, the so be it.
Plato says:
I cannot go there and simply offer the argument that you have presented
Todor says:
you do not need to post all I have said
Todor says:
alright, I'll talk to krill and contact you again
Plato says:
I shall look forward to it. Take care ormuzd
Todor says:
thanks
Todor says:
have a nice day
Plato says:
And you my friend.
Todor says:
thanks again
This should allow the RED GUARD army to safely move 4 next turn...as a sign of our "good faith". hehe.
We will stay in their territory to keep an eye out for any treachery on their part . This will be my justification to them.
Great Leaders, I need your input here!!
