	PAL requests new meeting Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

It was a long time since we have talked with PAL. Recently they made contact with the other two teams in the game - BAT and GWT.

PAL would like to meet and discuss our future plans. They have provided their prefered times. Since I'm not a good diplomat and my English is not quite good if I attend the meeting I'll speak not that much.

The meeting with PAL is over. Everyone may read the log in the FA Corrospondence thread and commented it here.

This is a summary of the chat (as I'm understanding it):
PAL have convinced BAT to kill CDG. Only after this we may go for alliance with BAT vs. GWT

BAT and GWT are in peace but they don't trust each other

BAT are strong compared to PAL and GWT are weak. This means GWT are very weak compared to BAT.

GWT don't want any alliance if it includes us

BAT have the Feudalism, GWT don't. Both teams are in the Medieval Age.

BAT have nearly completed the Great Library and they may be able to reasearch the upper path of the tech tree.

PAL suggested attack after 40 turns. Their plan is to build lot of Cavalries and we should follow with pikemen and musketeers to hold the land and do some pillage.
PAL will need ~3000 gold to upgrade all horsemen to cavalries and they asked us what we can do about helping them with that sum.

Um, why would BAT want to reserach the upper path of the tech tree [pre Education] while in possesion of the GL

Hum, GWT not wanting to be in an alliance with us? That's a grave insult. They should definately pay for that.

Very interesting, this should if nothing else solidify our alliance with PAL since they are technically no longer the big dog in this game.

Whatever you guys do, get BAT on our good side, then we can do the three way on GWT.

I think the BAT/PAL/Apoly gang bang is the way to go and gets us into the next game.

Togas pipe in here on this opinion, if you think I got the wrong impression since my dealings with BAT were minimal, and mostly pregame. I played with BAT in the MZO C3C Demo game back when I was active and the dealings I had with them were good. They seemed like a decent bunch of folks, who were victum of a bad start in the PtW Demo game.

Not sure excactly what we did to GWT to piss them off so much, but c'est la vive, just kill em this game and we dont have to worry about them anymore.

And an MOI opinion. Dont build any optional cities, get the ones we have or the ones we have planned that we have to have up to speed and fully productive. Lets get built what we need to build and go kill the Germans and get this game done and over with. if we have to turn some into camps for unit production. Do what we can to support this upcoming war.

Delay to 50 turns if we have to but make sure we make an adequete contribution.

It maybe time for some of the newer leaders to go back and read some of the initial/ early discussions we had with PAL. A Three way against the Germans was just what we talked about shortly after we met last year. It would be nice to see this come to fruition, and see us make it to the next game.

Our dealings with BAT (I believe were the french team that was killed by CGN in ISDG 1) were civil, but limited. There was no animosity. IIRC, many of their members were active posters on Apolyton.

GWT, on the other hand, became Apolyton's main rival in ISDG 1. There was a healthy amount of respect and fear for their abilities, but there were several petty disputes that arose about cheating and whatnot as the game painfully ground down in the final half year. Relations may have been mostly civil, but I imagine they like us a lot less than we like them.

And we don't like them all that much.
