In NEWSWEEK and on FOX recently, there has been much discussion on "Gay parties" where many gay people have sex. This naturally transmits HIV. What I don't understand is one thing ::

1. Why do they have these parties (question mark). By and large heterosexuals do not have "Register online" sex parties with complete strangers. Why cannot homosexuals simply fall in love with one person By and large? I know that some do, so spare me the bathwater, but why not like 80-90%?

In the article the guy was like "I'm gay, I need to get some action" so he went online. What the hell?

My Theory:: I also noticed Gay pride parades, etc, and this might have something to do with it. It is this notion that to be gay you "need to Partay" and let everyone know about it. This most likely contributes to what you know as Stereotypes and, also, although this has not been proven, sex parties that lead to advanced HIV.

If this strategy worked for straight men -- that is, if there were a similar number of straight women on-line trolling for quick, anonymous sex -- I think 80-90% would be the minimum participation rate you'd see. The rest of the Internet would just be so many virtual crickets chirping.

I can take three things from what you've said

1.) You don't know many gay people (hence the belief that the majority of homosexuals do this)

2.) You never got laid in college (hence the belief that heterosexuals don't do this)

3.) You've never met selfbiased, who went online and found women to have sexual relations with

My question for you is: how does a Gay Sex Party shove the fact that someone is gay in your face? Surely, straight people aren't on the invite list.

Here's a better theory: Men always have sex on the brain, homosexual or heterosexual. However, heteros need to work to get the woman to go to bed. When you have two gay men, you have two MEN who have sex on the brain. Thus, it seems that homosexuals have far more random sex, when in fact many heteros would do the same if it were possible.

Heterosexual sex parties are quite popular in major urban areas such as LA, NYC, etc.

I've never been to a gay sex party, nor do I know anyone who has. The whole idea gives me the skeevies.

I actually do know two people who have. But I also know at least five heteros (actually, one is bi) who have gone to orgies (it would be six if I had actually gone...but the idea gives me skeevies as well)

At these parties we also burn bibles and worship satan, as well as draw up plans on converting children and further subverting Hollywood to our every whim.

Good point.
Aside from that, gay people have lesser chance to engage in stabe relationship
- because unlike stable hetero relationship, it isn't supported by the society.
- gayness is not, in general, supported by the society. When You break one line, it's easier to break another
- perhaps gays do fall in love, but statistically definite most of their beloved ones are hetero...
Gay people grow up - mostly - lonely I think. They do not have a chance of analogical to hetero behaviour in their eviroment.

Suffering from ads?

Rufus T. and Emperor Fab - good posts.

We have a 41 year old male at work who is newly broken up after an intense three year relationship. He uses AdultFriendFinder, a couple of the foreign ones, is a biker, and flew to China. I had to show him all about hepetitus and the risks it poses in Asia.

Good god is the man getting laid - I work with him and he gets phone calls ALL NIGHT. Some of the ladies are really hot, too he has pictures, some of which I couldn't post here - and he' in them (there is a use for camera timers I guess), so he's not just making it up. He is a one man sex party.

My point - hetero men with the opportunity can be just as stupid (and yes, he doesn't like condoms - I asked). He has the common sense of a rutebega. He also a nice, in great shape, athletic, charming, impulsive moron. I'm smiling, I can't help but like the guy.

Ok first of all, not reading any answers but only OP, heterosexuals have LOTS of sex parties with strangers, happens all the time. Heterosexuals (usually men) also go online 'to get action' more than gay guys, simply because it's very common for straight heterosexual men.

I think that's all there is to it.. but I do wonder why this would be a news worthy thing. Seems like spreading homophobia, gays getting it on with strangers, spreading HIV, homo sodo parties, nasty, evil, poopholes.

Wiggy:

Oh come on, if orgies where on offer a lot of people would go in for them if available. Again, it is completely dependent on the individual and what they want, and not an issue of sexuality. The only thing that would make it easier for such a gay orgy would be the relative ease of organisation (it's all men).

Perhaps? Trust me, we do fall in love. While I'm not up to date on the gay scene in Poland's lush and crumpling Stalinesque hotspots, gays in this part of the First World tend to wide and varied friendship groups and lead just as full and "analogical" lives as any hetero does.
