I still can't get on to WoW. It seems that a few people are also having the problem, and Blizzard is ignoring it. If it's not fixed, consider my subscription canceled.

Just did my first dungeon quest yesterday: The Deadmines in Westfall.

We were a group of guys, all level 16-18. The Deadmines is a level 20 range quest. Needless to say we got creamed. Fun it was, though.

Well they are saying Honor system armor is great against Fear and Priests don't have any other crowd control. And Holy Nova (top of the Holy talent tree) went from semi useful to useless.

Palys are whining about being nerfed too from a venture to their forums

I might go back to my hunter for a while. Even though they are apparently getting even more nerfed. I really don't care. Many are cancelling and that just means there will be less competition for groups.

Apocalypse: Why are so many cancelling? This is on the US servers for sure. In EU they are opening new servers now.

Well hunters are. The new patch will make their number of misses go up by an average of 30% since ranged attacks would now be parried and dodged. Thus at least 1/2 ranged shots will now miss.

I take it you're new to MMORPGs?

Holy Nova got buffed, BTW. If every class is whining about being nerfed, what's the big deal? Think about it.

People have been saying they were cancelling the game en masse since November. If they do, they come right back. It's the nature of the beast.

And Paladins aren't whining about being nerfed, they're whining about the ugly lightforge helm graphic and the epic mount quest/graphic.

That's nonsense.

The change is that the miss-rate will depend on the user's defense skill rather than their level, which makes sense. So if a L60 has +20 defense, he will now deflect/dodge/evade behave like a L64. Which is what it should do.

But! PvP doesn't have the same armor/defense-bonus to 3+ level mobs like PvE does. That is, it'll miss maybe 10% more to someone with +20 defense at L60.

People are whining and exaggerating like they always do.

Unless he's wearing heavy armour, in which case he should have a maximum 10% of dodging it, no matter how agile he may be.

Nah, the number is consistently around 30% on average from tests done on the test server. Rogues are pretty much impossible to hit now.

I'm level 18 now, and got all new gear. Today, I have been doing a series of rather easy quests in Westfall. Now I am in Loch Modan, doing quests relating to The Dark Iron League (or something like that).

Actually most plate mail was never good for arrows and didn't provide much blocking power at all.

And frankly, parrying is the big problem I have. Blizzard is saying people should have always been able to parry and block arrows and bullets and the current system is a bug but in the parry description it specifically says "melee."

Well arrows can penetrate the average plate fairly well according to tests, worse than chain (though the good quality was typically fashioned to prevent it. Bullets on the other hand are kinda ridiculous.

Arrows that can't penetrate never shattered either, just were deflected. Deflection was already in there.

Furthermore, you just shouldn't dodge and parry ranged weapons. It's crazy.
