Most quests are pretty much the same anyway.
Bring me these items.
Kill X number of enemies.

You're a hard man to satisfy, Ludd. Yeah...all quests are basically the same, but so far, I don't mind. This game provides atmosphere, in a big way. And with that in mind, it is okay that quests are the same.

There's also "Explore this area/cave/dungeon"

However, few MMORPGs have significant levels of new skills to learn after a few months of playing (well, after say 150-200 hours playing). PvE after that point is useful for gaining small amounts of gold and/or raw materials in some games ... and PvP skills usually vary quite dramatically from PvE, once you have the basics down. (In most games, not all.) |
Sure, the future is in PvP, but that's in the nature of the game. Persons provide a better opponent than AI, it has always been like that, and I don't see that changing in the near future.

Just saying... My first character was alliance, and I enjoyed it alot. My second character was Horde, and I enjoyed it alot. My third character, however, wasn't half as fun as the other two, because I had done all the quests already.

As for grouping...you're a warrior, so your role is to "tank".
You'll draw "aggro" (get monsters to hate you), so they hit you and not anyone else, like the "squishies" (mage, priest, etc). You have more health and more armor, so it makes sense for them to hit you.
Ideally you'll want to team with a healer of some sort...Paladin, Druid, Priest. It's still possible to play with others successfully, just can be a bit trickier.
Make liberal use of taunt and such to make sure the mobs attack you, not your group.
